#tiny things!

yeah fittingly he was in Artoo I had to take Kalmar to the vet to get a microchip/shot update and the package was delivered before I left so I took him with me and opened it after the appointment

Anyway, LOOK AT HIM

Buddy how are you so tiny and why do you look perpetually worried and sleep deprived? HE'S SO STINKIN CUTE

The eBay seller I got him from sent a little bonus Ahsoka and I'm losing it over the fact that she's to scale with Anakin-Vader

Anyway, I love him so much he's so little and adorable and HE LOOKS LIKE HE OFTEN DOES IN THE FANFIC IM WRITING.

Bonus: Madia's cute little nose for scale as she sniffed him earlier (don't worry Vader I'd never let her eat you)

This crocheted doily hangs out on my desk, being pretty! I made it back in 2020, in the first few months at this apartment!

Unfortunately, you may be able to tell in that^ picture that Frodo's head is... not quite on right.

That's because when he showed up his head was literally on backwards 😂

I feel like most people would exchange him at this point but NOT ME, I am used to my funko pops being messed up and having to fix them. Hilariously, my normal Frodo funko has literally two left feet, his foot is literally on the wrong way. (What do you have against Frodo Baggins, funko, do I need to send Sam over there?)

In this case this little bugger was tiny enough that I just decided to twist his head off and glue it back on with my hot glue gun. Worked like a charm.

He's good now, and you can hardly tell!

So back when I was 17, I think, I found the tiniest screwdriver at a church camp retreat. It was very nice, had two different heads, one on each end, made of metal. As a lover of tiny things I was delighted.

Some time in college I lost the tiny screwdriver. I am very careful of my tiny things and rarely lose them so this was baffling.

Not one to let that stop me though, I found and ordered a new one. I THOUGHT it was the same thing, but when it arrived it turned out to be the same kind of screwdriver, but with shoddy plastic covers on the ends that quickly fell apart. Since it was a keychain, this meant that it became impossible to carry around.

Today, I went bookstore hopping and one of the places I visited was a delightful used bookstore. When I came home and was looking over my books again I saw something bulging in the pages of one. I pulled it out and discovered-

the tiniest screwdriver! It’s just like my original one, just without the keychain loop. Which is fine, I can work with that. But it’s there and it’s metal and I didn’t even notice it in the store! It was just a neat little bonus, a free little gift. I am absolutely delighted by this.

This is my current Tiny Emergency Project; if you find yourself out with nothing to do but wait, it's very useful to have a Very Small intricate crochet doily in your bag, waiting patiently to be worked on!

I'm using very very thin yarn (it's actually one of the 4 2-ply yarns that made up a much thicker (but still thin!) shawl yarn, which I liked much better taken apart. (also, don't do that. Separating the plies in 1000-yard balls of yarn is REALLY ANNOYING! But in this case... it was worth it. Probably.)

I've finished spinning this, finally! This is approximately half an ounce of silk, chain plied; I bought the whole ounce early last year, once I thought I had figured out this whole spinning thing sufficiently. I've worked on it on and off this whole time; I have to be in the right mood for this, and have had other things to finish, first!

The first half ounce is 2-ply, much less even, and about 2/3rds of that is half of a fancy little silk bag I've only half finished, done from a three-sentence incomplete pattern and a picture, from the antique pattern library! (which is a WONDERFUL website to find old patterns for all sorts of crafts, in various degrees of clarity, helpfulness, and loveliness of project!)
