Honestly, for these two adorable nerds, both AU’s would be amazing.

Like, okay, the neighbors one, Rip’s a rather cantankerous grouch, has most of the people in their building either constantly angry with him or flat out afraid, and then Wally moves in and everyone warns him about the dick in apartment D5, but Wally just like doesn’t get it, cause the bashful, shy man is always nice to Wally, super polite but always nice, so he doesn’t understand why people keeping saying what they do.

And then there’s the white collar criminal’s AU. 

Rip is a divorced FBI Agent, tracking Wally West, one of the BEST white collar criminals the worlds ever known, and finally, finally, he catches up but then four years later Wally breaks out because his girlfriend Jesse Quick  breaks up with him. It’d mostly follow the plot of season one, but god, it’d be awesome.

falls asleep on the couch

wally, because rip doesn’t Sleep outside of remembering “oh, right, that’s something people have to do”. if rip does end up passing out anywhere that isn’t the proper designated area for sleeping at the time then it’s usually on the floor or something due to true exhaustion that would make anyone knock out instantly

also when they’re on the couch together you KNOW wally falls asleep on him… and rip smiles just a bit because there truly are some good things left in the world and one of those good things is right beside him

makes friends with the neighbors

wally again because rip doesn’t WANT to leave the comfortable safe space of their home, don’t make him do it. but also rip will attend all the dinners or other things that wally is invited to alongside him if wally asks

not that wally asks often, he figures it’s not rip’s speed. but he’ll def hook rip up with the one neighbour who’s a historian because he wants to see rip vibe with at least One person

is the adventurous eater

rip spent maybe the first 10 odd years of his life being an impoverished cutpurse in a dystopian post-plague 22nd century so it’s definitely rip… unless you mean “who’s more willing to try cool new dishes at restaurants” then that’s definitely wally. rip is adventurous because he would willingly eat a cockroach that’s been trapped in a jar if he had to. wally’s adventurous because he’d eat mango-chicken-raw fish egg-cucumber pizza at a japanese fusion restaurant

hogs the covers at night

rip because wally kicks all the cover off and subsequently takes up 2/3 of the whole bed. he ends up with his head near the foot of the bed and his leg draped over rip and rip is just a blanket burrito

forgets to do the dishes

rip doesn’t mean to, it’s just that his mind always ends up elsewhere. but also wally doesn’t mind because speedforce lets him finish the whole thing in like 2 seconds anyway

tries to surprise their partner more often

rip occasionally has this concern that maybe wally will get bored of him because of the age gap, so sometimes he thinks of these out of nowhere things they can try out together. wally is never surprised necessarily, though– he knows that rip will keep coming up with these things, and so he’s comfortable with just trusting him and going along with it and being surprised by rip’s plans specifically rather than being surprised that rip would go to such efforts for him

wally surprises rip too but in a different way. like “hey i rescued a dog are you cool with that?” and rip is just there staring at wally in the open doorway carrying this fat three-legged dog and how is he supposed to say no

leaves dirty laundry on the floor

wally probably, but not ALL the time. it’s just that sometimes… it’s a rush… to get things off (cough) you know (cough cough)

stays up til 2 AM reading

rip because he doesn’t sleep right. wally will sometimes stay up with him but rip’s more likely to do it by himself regardless

sings in the shower

BOTH OF THEM… and if they shower together they sing together that’s just how it is. honestly i feel like the west-hunter household would have them singing quite often once rip’s gotten over his initial barriers of doing such “silly” things all the time

they’re in the kitchen baking and the stereo’s on and wally starts to sing and rip sings along

they’re walking their dog and share earbuds and sing together

they’re cleaning the house and sing together

takes the selfies

wally because rip doesn’t understand the techniques of cameraphones. also wally keeps putting them in silly filters and it’s so stupid but there are some genuinely amusing ones, rip thinks

plans date night

wally probably in an attempt to impress rip tries to plan out this incredible date night that will absolutely knock his socks off. it lasts hours into the night and rip doesn’t feel awkward at all the whole time, and it’s astounding how well wally knows him now

“I love you,” Rip breathes out as he holds his cuppa just in front of his mouth, eyes flicking between watching the steam come up from the liquid and Wally’s face.

Taking a moment to slow time around him down, Wally lets himself have his initial freak out before speeding back up so that he can carefully drop his fork down, letting it clank against the plate as he shoves his chair back. Planting both his hands firmly on the table, Wally leans over and waits for Rip to meet him half way for a kiss that is meant to be fleeting but they quickly deepen.
