Minecraft painted tiles
Some house shapes I’ve been playing around with
I’ve started poking at making art again, and since I’m ultimately planning on writing a book and turning it into a game and I really need to start practicing making game assets, I’ve been toying with some different building shapes to include in a tile set. I’ll likely make some larger buildings to function as mansions, offices, larger shops, etc., but this is a good starting point, I think.
My ultimate plan is to have a tile set that I can plug into Unity and make a myriad of towns/paths/etc. so that, at the very least, I’ll have something I can use to prototype before I start making game-specific art.
I do pixel art now, apparently. Bottom two are from a class I took and the top one is one I did between classes. Aftermath inspired. Frost Elves living in Vidrona would see snowy fields like this!
I’ve been revising the forest tile set for Insignia recently, trying to unify the rocky cave with the grass for more interesting level design.
One feature of note is that these have a foreground and a background layer, so Armin can stand in the middle. This way I can create more natural looking and varied terrain that extends beyond the character’s feet without completely obscuring him.
I’ve still got a bit to go on these but I’m really happy with the progress.

I made a bunch of assets for a game I don’t even know if I’ll make. Yes they’re formatted for RPG Maker, please don’t judge me. They’re all obviously unfinished, but it's for an idea my brother and I had for a horror game about a clone who’s born aware of the fact that he’s a clone. And his name is Theta.
Working on handmade tiles. Needs some pc fixing in some spots but I kinda like it.
Long long time ago I can still remember.. I used to do pixel art. I also used to try and help out with some game projects and such and ended up creating bits and pieces of tilesets to use in game making for a game project that died out rather quick. They were old Final Fantasy styled and then some random "fancier" ones I tried to make, but never really got further with. Nowadays I haven't dabbled in pixel art but remembering how much fun it used to be, I'm sometimes tempted.. sometimes.. then I remember I don't have the patience for it anymore. But here, see a blast from my past! And if you feel like you'd have a use for them, go ahead (but do tell me if you do! I want to see :) )
