PAIR OF BROWN SNAKES IN KITTY LITTER TRAY. So as Karen was cleaning out her kitty litter last night in Warrandyte, she left the tray and forgot about it half way through as some newspaper fell and covered the tray. This morning Karen went to go finish the job and upon lifting up the newspaper found this site. She promptly put the newspaper back and called out The Snake Hunter. Showing up in quick time as I was swimming in Warrandyte River with Star the border collie, I showed up slightly damp, and removed said paper and found 2 brown snakes. I WARNED HUME CITY COUNCIL & THEY DIDNT LISTEN I repeatedly warned Hume City Council that their current policies in place for snake catching would get someone or an animal seriously hurt or killed. Their response to one of my many email complaints about this matter was quote: "The Hume website outlines the various ways that customers can contact Council." Then on Monday, I got a call out at 1.30pm and told the Hume resident to call the Hume council as they're suppose to provide a service. By 4pm, the matter was not dealt with by Council. At that time, I again was called to attend from residents so I did, and when I arrived I caught the snake in 2 minutes. But in the 2.5 hour delay, a beautiful family dog was bitten and is now dead, the family has an enormous vet bill over $10,000 and a man was at risk trying to try to deal with the snake and ALL of this could have been prevented. I have copies of emails of me attempting to contact the council about this. If you see a snake, at this stage just call me directly until Hume fix this: 0403875409.
