The hilarious thing about the metalgate bullshit that I posted about yesterday is that the completely manufactured "scandal" (if you can call it that, there being no scandalous incident to instigate it aside from two sentences in Spin and a "homophobic slurs are a pretty douchebaggy thing to be tossing around" article on Metal Injection) has failed to result in any momentum whatsoever. More people sent out #FF tweets on days that are not Friday than used the metalgate hashtag at its peak. More people tweeted #tbt on days that are not Thursday than tweeted about metalgate. That's because everybody knows that metal is not under attack from anybody. And yet, some steadfast metalgate wunderkinds are trying to claim that the hashtag's utter lack of momentum is evidence of their victory. "Whoo-hoo! See? We're shuttin' 'em down! Can't nobody attack metal!"
Psst -- hey, champ. Y'know what? Nobody was trying.
And meanwhile, anyone who says the above, to these schmucks, is trying to distract the metal faithful from non-existent "SJW" attacks.
