How differently do they think of each other now compared to when they first met?
While there was some instantaneous attraction between them, they took a long time to actually get to know each other beyond a sort of friendly regular customer/restaurateur sort of deal. They both admired each other and found pleasure in each others’ company but there were distinct social boundaries there that neither of them would break deliberately. Anna is what really started to break that down and bring things to a place where they could talk about real things and actually get to know each other by oversharing intimate details of hers and Elsa’s life, including their separation and new reconciliation. As they got to know each other more, admiration grew and so did intimacy.
What do their friends/family think of their relationship?
Everyone is very supportive of their relationship, even Eudora who was initially concerned that the anxious queen would end up being another stressor in Tiana’s busy life.
How do their personalities/skills complement or contrast with each other?
I think both Elsa and Tiana are more mature Disney characters that behave as adults with strong senses of propriety. That being said they both are at a point where they need to start getting out and enjoying themselves and know it. I feel like they’d each individually work on themselves not really for the other but because they both want to be happy and know they have to do that.
What is their favorite aspect of each other?
Tiana’s favorite aspect of Elsa is how much she cares about the people close to her, she gets to be present for a lot of Elsa and Anna’s re-getting to know each other and it’s obvious that despite Elsa not always being able to properly express it she wants desperately to be loved and loves her sister and her friends.
Elsa’s favorite part of Tiana is how strong her conviction in her dreams is. Tiana does not give up on anything that she truly wants and that translates well into their relationship.
Do either of them have pet peeves about each other?
Elsa knew that Tiana was a workaholic going into the relationship and wouldn’t change it but misses her girlfriend when she’s late from work and is sad when she never actually gets to spend awake time with Tiana.Â
Similarly, Tiana is aware that Elsa is bad at expressing emotions but really hates when Elsa shuts down and runs away from problems instead of working on them.
How would each reconcile with each other after a fight?
They don’t argue very much but generally, Elsa runs away and after Tiana’s calmed down either Elsa comes back and Tiana encourages her to talk about what’s going on or Tiana goes looking for Elsa. Both of them know they have to talk out issues and usually things don’t escalate to fighting.
What would be their ideal vacation getaway together?
It’s very difficult for either of them to take a vacation because Tiana feels weird about leaving her restaurant and they both have difficulties putting stuff down to relax, however I could see them exploring someplace unfamiliar with good food away from crowds.
Think of a new way (AU, different situation, etc.) they could have met for the first time.
Elsa is an architect and in an effort to get out more after reuniting with her estranged sister she starts a sketchbook of buildings and sights in New Orleans. She leaves it at the café that Tiana works at and Tiana picks it up and reads it, initially meaning to find the owner’s contact info but she’s drawn into it and starts going to the places described and begins adding photos and post-its to the book. Eventually, Elsa comes back to the café and asks after her sketchbook and Tiana hands it back to her and Elsa appreciates the notes and comes back to talk to Tiana.
