hello !! I got a tumblr account not too long ago in order to check nekoboydream’s blog, and after fully immersing myself in the fandom for about a month now, I’ve decided to share some of the things I’ve come up with !

today, I’ll be sharing some of the headcanons I wrote. this will include all circus characters, excluding Columbina! there is a small amount of sexual content :) enjoy!

Pierrot headcanons:

-Torn with how to spend his time since he has to juggle the circus, stalking/interacting with MC, and carrying out tons of little gift ideas

   ~Most confident in handmade gifts because they were "made with lots of love". He probably kisses them too

-Gets a little salty whenever going to a bakery/restaurant since they could be eating HIS food

-Masochist (for you)

-Has had the idea of a body pillow of himself as a gift for you and vice versa stuck in his head and can't get it out

-Goes through entire dance routines alone in his tent when he's overjoyed

-Likes arts & crafts; helps create props and decorations 

-Hums a lot, especially while cooking 

-Asked Ticket Taker for advice on lists/schedules so he could brainstorm and write out in-depth plans and ideas for him and MC

   ~Everything totals to at least 5 pages long and is only growing

-Likes birds. Dunno why

-The star pin fits him because his show seems to be more centralized on Pierrot specifically, especially with his lack of speech. From what we've seen of Harlequin and Jester's shows, they may tell stories or control characters. Doctor's tent focuses on the patient/operation, and TT's tent is about tricking the mind and treading the line between reality and fiction—it also involves other people. Pierrot seems to be the only character that's always the "star" of his show

-Hard switch but enjoys bottoming a little bit more since it means you're the one initiating everything and that drives him mad

-Loves when he has to restrain himself in more intimate settings, whether literally or metaphorically 

Harlequin headcanons:

-Playtester for all the circus stalls and often tries to rope Pierrot into competing with him

-Even if he might complain or act passive aggressive, he always puts in the work when asked

-Receiving affection from pets/animals makes him freeze up so he stays away from them

   ~When asked, he'll brush it off as not wanting his costume to get dirty or something

-Has secretly read romance books to learn new "tricks"

   ~Also secretly enjoyed a few of them, but he'll take that secret to the grave

-Pities Doctor for his density and has given up on making any kind of innuendo around him

-Main advertiser of the circus (Pierrot is the main one handing out flyers, but Harlequin also verbally spreads the word and socializes with others)

-Always threatens other people that he's gonna tell Jester about something they did but never actually does it

   ~Only follows his word when it comes to Pierrot cause it's more fun that way

-Loves to sneak up on people; even does it when handing out flyers and has to hold back a snicker whenever someone gets scared

-Plays with the bells on his hat when bored

-Insists on taking up as much space as possible wherever he sits/lays

   ~Would definitely sprawl across MC's lap if they were close

-Gets bored easily and says "I'm bored" out loud as if anyone was going to do anything about it

-Surprisingly neat (TT whipped him into shape)

-Really good at picking out gifts but doesn't do it often

-Knows how to sew due to Pierrot always battering up his clothes (and for his puppets. I stole this one from a fanfic)

-Doesn't have many hobbies and instead immerses himself in socializing and learning about the environment

   ~Spends most of his time lounging around, helping Ticket Taker, preparing for his show, or exploring the city they're in

-Has a shelf of little trinkets and prank objects

-Has set perfumes for different social situations (circus perfume, advertising perfume, seducing MC perfume what who said that)

-Winning his affections will, of course, not be easy. You have to understand he likes to change the topic, take it in a sexual manner, or treat you unseriously due to his fear of affection and losing another person he cares about (Neko has stated he is aware we will die eventually). He may also be taking too much joy in taking you from Pierrot to genuinely acknowledge your romantic feelings. You have to be direct and tell him he needs to say his true thoughts, regardless of the competition. That honesty and determination to pursue him would be the reason he'd be interested in the first place

Jester headcanons:

-Insists he doesn't like nicknames, but if you're in good favor with him and repeatedly call him something, he'll stop mentioning it if it isn't stupid. If you're close, he might come to like the nickname since it represents your view of him

-Meditates occasionally; mostly to savor silence

-Sighs. A lot.

-Likes small talk

-Doesn't actually have a favorite color and only chose purple because of his eyes

-Sharpens his claws regularly

-"Safety first"

-When hearing someone out, he offers them a chair, sits down, crosses his legs and arms, and begins tapping his finger on his elbow

-Says "What now?" whenever Harlequin approaches him

-Secretly worried about Pierrot's new obsession. He trusts Pierrot, but Jester knows he can be blinded by love

-Takes good care of his hair (have you seen how shiny it is??)

-Has a lot of maps, partly to plan out the circus's next location

-Can probably play the violin and/or piano

-Pinches his forehead. A lot.

-Most sought-after of the troupe. Finds it more annoying and shallow than anything

   ~Getting called attractive or flirted with leaves a sour taste in his mouth because it reminds him of how people would treat Columbina

-Ticket Taker only goes to him for business, but Jester attempts to make conversation anyway

-Rarely seeks anyone out. They'll arrive at the right time.

-Crosses his arms. A lot. Okay I've been trying to avoid it but he really is just a mother

-Probably twirls his hair too

   ~He would love to play with MC's hair if they were close—he probably does that to the Fools, styling them like dolls 

-Collects small trinkets from every place the circus visits

-Finds the idea of a human genuinely falling in love with one of the troupe members near impossible

-Has so many random niches in different knowledge groups, it's dizzying

-More susceptible to pleading than you think

-Probably into whips, hair pulling, pet/master or owner dynamics, etc.

-Jester is the hardest to win affection from, especially with his distaste towards humans. No matter how someone goes about it, it will require lots of time and effort. Though he may catch onto hidden intentions almost immediately, he won't mention it and will continue to act normally. So as long as you are given enough time, whether a few months or a few years, and you interact with him normally, perhaps taking interest in what he does and offering positive contributions to his life, he might come to like you. But Jester will always put the circus first, especially considering you are a mere human. 

   ~It'd be really easy to get close to him if you're able to have in-depth intellectual conversations. It would come as a pleasant surprise, but ultimately something Jester enjoys deeply

Ticket Taker headcanons:

-Knows everyone in town, even if they say they've never met him before

   ~Performs thorough background checks often

-Runs the circus's functionalities while Jester directs him (but that's basically canon)

-Materialistic; fusses over money (also half-canon which I didn't realize before writing this)

-Counting, especially with props, tickets, and decorations, is very therapeutic for him. Angry? Just look around and count the 18 rings at a game—only to see that there's 17 and become even more upset

   ~In one of Neko's tumblr posts, he says that Ticket Taker would tell MC to count objects if they're having a panic/anxiety attack. I like to apply this headcanon in a way where TT is suggesting that because it's calming for him lol

-Is the most sensitive to pitch and gets irritated whenever someone sings or hums because they're usually off-key. Harlequin takes advantage of this when possible

-Spends more time setting up a table and perfecting ingredient quantities than actually cookingk

-Has a fedora/top hat collection

-Helps Doctor clean his tools/organize files sometimes

-Uses one of those long grabby hand things to pick up trash around the circus

   ~"Disposes of" persistent litterers (3 strikes and you're out system)

-Has his own small tent filled with tons of extra supplies to replace ANYTHING that goes missing. Like, ANYTHING

-Clicking his tongue is the only filler word/sound that slips out (only when he's upset)

-Can learn anything effortlessly like Jester, but prefers not to since he has little reason to try something new

-Gets a little antsy when he doesn't have work to do and starts to clean/organize even when everything's spotless

-Very considerate of other people's property and considers ruining them to be one of the worst things he could do: for example, he sits/lays down perfectly still on other beds so he doesn't crease the sheets

-Occasionally takes scenic walks and sometimes Harlequin will accompany him

   ~Based off my "Harlequin helps TT clean" headcanon, the two are probably closer than you'd think. Cleaning up Harlequin's messes is still a pain, though

-Has never broken a thing in his life

-Loves stationary and has a collection

-Generally owns a few collections

-Has Pierrot and Harlequin take separate shifts in order to help around the circus

-Words have no effect on him; he prefers practical gifts or support in maintaining cleanliness. It might take a month or two to win him over. But like Jester, ultimately, TT will prioritize the circus over his feelings, though he may take time out of his busy schedule to help you with tasks.

Doctor headcanons:

-Pretty much canon, but he's dense as a rock. Like, really. He has to experiment and run through scenarios countless times to understand something, especially if there are new variables

-Can't focus on multiple things at once 

-NEEDS silence between shows or else he'll go mad

-Probably definitely autistic (and a lot of these headcanons connect to it. got this one from Darthsuki)

-Struggles deeply with decision-making which is partly why he enjoys experiments so much

-Used to be scolded by Jester often for playing nice and relaxing metal music at loud volumes during circus hours. He's forced to use earbuds now

   ~The sound of a lot of people talking is irritating so he drowns it out with music

-Does not know about any other music genres besides a few pop/country songs he heard on the radio once 

-Maybe the mechanic of the group due to his skill with his hands? Jester would direct him, but he'd perform the actual maintenance

-Has difficulty expressing his emotions and is not intentionally aloof 24/7

-Has a lot of hobbies he wants to pursue. I'll list some below:

    ~Wants to learn how to play an instrument. Which one? Uh...

    ~Wants to get better at cooking but is intimidated by how many recipes there are.

    ~Wants to garden more. He started taking care of a wild flower outside his tent, but it died. He then repeated that 5 more times and meticulously wrote down all the results. Somehow, his "hobby" devolved into another experiment. (I wrote this before I knew he took care of plants; it was mentioned in one of the AMAs as his peculiar hobby)

-Gets lost in thought often and bumps into walls

-When multiple people are talking, he's completely silent. Usually cause he doesn't understand what they're saying

-Has his own personal logbook (basically his version of a diary) where he writes what he experienced that day and if it affected him, if so, why, what experiments he performed, blah blah blah

-Tent walls are somewhat soundproof since he can't focus on treating patients with noise in the background (the soundproof doesn't stop the sound of metal music blaring, unfortunately)

-Quite good at photography, especially since he used it sometimes to catalog certain experiments

-Steady and deft with his hands, clumsy with his feet

-When he gets a new idea/interest, he drops everything in order to devote time to it 

-Generally unorganized outside of medical care. Tries to help others clean up but usually puts stuff back in the wrong place

   ~Ticket Taker appreciates the intent, but he eventually told Doctor to put everything in a pile so TT can put it away himself without having to reorganize everything 

   ~This happened several times with Jester's books

-Winning his affection isn't too difficult, all things considered. It's getting him to recognize both your and his own feelings. You need to be very direct and blunt about what you feel about him, and even then, allow him time to run through scenarios in his head to decide what choices he would make with you and how that dictates his feelings. You'd probably have to guide him through that process and help him theorize, or else he'll be stuck in denial hell
