I forgot to take a photo of the patches sewn onto the deck box, but I thought I'd share the patches themselves
I'm not gonna lie, having to do them with thread was intimidating but the process was actually very enjoyable!
I wish I could have added a border (i like how neat it makes the patches look), but alas the border would have make them too big 😔
Oh wow! You did such fine, fantastic work on these — thank you so much for giving use the chance to see it! I feel like motifs (previously) gain a lot of gravitas in fibre form, under your careful attention :)
I'm extra pleased I could convince you to take a stab at thread crochet! With good lighting and/or reading glasses, sensible tension and a period of adjustment, it really isn't that much harder, and working small opens up a so many possibilities for making/embellishing finished objects. (Also, working in thread is cheap).
I will extol the virtues of border rounds, at length, to anyone who'll listen, but I hope you found that sewing a Patch in place can have a lot of the same benefits, adding structure and cleaning up edges.
(For future reference, a Quick Mesh border—a single round of hdcT mesh in Colour B—doesn't make a Patch appreciably "bigger" except to align and spread out the edges, so it's a good option when borders are desired but space is at a premium!)
