You Say You Want A Revolution.
It seems like people are really afraid of or cringed out by the word “revolution” and I think that is conditioned into us purposefully by the ruling class and the algorithms they create (X, meta, Etc.) in order to maintain the status quo.
I was doing research last night and came across a conservative argument which I thought was almost funny. He said “capitalism isn’t going to end” because of two reasons:
1) the wealthy will do whatever they possibly can to maintain their wealth. (I agree there)
2) material conditions are too good in developed nations to warrant the majority gunning for revolution (revolution being the forceable overthrow of a government or social order, in favor of a new system). (I disagree)
I agree that the wealthy will do whatever they possibly can to maintain their wealth. I disagree that conditions ‘aren’t bad enough’ to warrant a majority revolution. Just because they ‘aren’t bad enough’ for you, doesn’t mean they aren’t for the majority or a large percentage of people. That’s privilege.
And I think the coming together of the left and right since the shooting of UHC’s CEO proves we are in the final stages of capitalism. Class consolidation and then more class consolidation and then more class consolidation and then revolution. Don’t let anyone distract you. It’s not Left vs Right. It’s Up vs. Down.
I'mma be honest but I feel like it's quite hard to grow an art account when you have so much stuff going on with school and life.
Being a 1D stan and a Larrie has really given me alot but also probably fucked me up a lot. Constantly seeking those HUGE emotions I used to get from One Direction from everywhere but never getting the same feelings again and believing in a soul mate kind of love but never experiencing it myself is all so so hard. I keep searching for those things even without thinking and it puts me in difficult places mentally and with people.

I hate when media portrays a character who goes from sweet and meek to ruthless and hostile as ‘tough’ or ‘strong.’ Since when was being kind unacceptable? Or being tenderhearted considered a weakness? Blind obedience is a weakness. Running away is a weakness. Being afraid or sensitive? Not weaknesses. You can make characters strong without having them eat nails for breakfast. You can still have characters that like to sit in the flowers, but have strong conviction. It’s okay to let them cry or act worried or even stutter when they’re called on to speak. It makes them human. It gives them flaws that we can relate to. Making someone want to benchpress a school bus of children is totally fine, but there’s no shame in letting them become weepy when they see a baby duck. There’s ALWAYS more room for sympathetic, meek, tenderhearted, softspoken, and gentle characters. We need more examples of compassionate people. Let people be softhearted.
