Theyâd only spent a few weeks in August working on the Diadem before Lupin had declared that Regulus was âtoo frustratedâ to do any effective research, to which Regulus had snapped at him and tried to slam his face in a book, rather embarrassingly proving his point. The unlikely pair had switched to tracking down the Cup at Lupinâs suggestion - âswitching topics is like a palate cleanser for your mind Regulus, I know youâre posh enough to be familiar with that conceptâ - and yet here they were, the second weekend of October, focusing back once again on the Diadem.
âOh I am a complete fucking idiot!â
Regulus barely hears the outburst, too caught up in his own mind, but the snarky back and forth between them has been going on for so long now that itâs basically instinctual at this point, and he replies without even having to think about it. âNo arguments here, Lupin.â
