Re-Announce Trailer

It's not a Saturday, but everyday is Sadladurday!

To start, we have newer promo art cooked up by our incredible art lead, @lightsintheskye!

For everyone, new and old, welcome!

We're SadLad Studios, an indie game studio, currently working on our first game: Third Shift.

In this game, we follow Charlie, who travels to Arbor Hollow in search of their missing older sister, Robin. However, to ensure they can stay in the town to uncover the clues regarding their sister's whereabouts, they need to work. And what better place to work than the local convenience store! At this convenience store, Charlie will help spirits from all over the forest surrounding the town and maybe discover a few of the town's own secrets.

Let's meet a few of the characters:

Here's Charlie, our main character extraordinaire! Detective (dubbed by Summer) and best friend (dubbed by Kunal), Charlie is who players will be controlling ~

This next one is Kunal! He's Charlie's self-proclaimed best friend (but he also actually is Charlie's best friend and you BETTER BE NICE TO HIM). Spirit medium, knitter of sweaters, and just basically a jack of all trades, Kunal is there to assist Charlie with whatever they need and maybe help them uncover some secrets about Arbor Hollow.

The last one we'll introduce today is Naomi. Stunning, beautiful, gorgeous, muscular, probably the most perfect being in the universe. Naomi is a bit of an aloof person who visits the convenience store on occasion. She's also Kunal's sworn enemy (one-sided). Perhaps she has some ways to unlock Arbor Hollow's secrets.

Dev Notes:

We had a few hiccups along the way, but we're back up and running. Here are some things we've been working on:

We've scaled back the project a bit. Now that we've mostly finalized development team, we can really get the ball rolling!

A few of you may remember there was a prototype that was in the works a while back. It was pretty successful! We're well on our way to making our first demo for the game.

Third-person single-player road trip adventure game Forever Ago, which was first announced in July 2020, will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store this fall, publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Third Shift announced.

In Forever Ago, the player takes on the role of Alfred as he navigates the aftermath of a tragedy in his life. Propelled by his minivan and armed with an instant camera, he embarks on a journey north in search of redemption.

Along the way, Alfred will explore beautiful environments and meet fascinating new people while visiting beautiful and unique places, from serene forest trails to deserts to mountains, examining objects to help him understand his surroundings and the people who came before. He makes new memories and captures them with his instant camera, used to document his journey and solve small environmental puzzles. Featuring an original soundtrack by Clark Aboud (Slay the Spire), Forever Ago is an emotional exploration of love, loss, and redemption.
