I've realized that my Final Year Project (FYP) is more challenging than I thought it would be. I used to think it was just another assignment, but it's proving to be much more challenging. I need to work on speaking up more this semester. As you know, I'm not very comfortable speaking in front of a crowd. However, I wanted to let you know that I've taken a personal course on public speaking to improve my vocabulary and overcome my fear of speaking in front of others.

Babah, I've managed to overcome my fear, and I hope you will be proud of the progress I've made. On a different note, I've been working on a new project that involves character design. I'm proud of the cute characters I've been able to draw, and I'm considering pursuing a career as a full-time illustrator. I hope to be able to work on new and bigger projects with MNCs in the future.

I've also started wearing a "thinking hat" that I personally came up with. It might seem silly, but when I wear this hat, I feel more focused and productive. Your son-in-law thinks it's cute! I'm looking forward to completing my FYP and making a career change. I miss you a lot, Babah.

The cost in higher education has been at an overwhelming increase over the past few decades. This is creating unbearable debt for students seeking to make a path to a successful career. With this being said, it is concerning to consider how in today’s economy, a College degree is the equivalent to a High School diploma in past generations. 

Education is necessary to maintain America’s prosperity, respect and leadership. The Declaration of Human Rights declares, in Article 26, that education is a RIGHT. It is also stated, in Article 27, that everyone has the right to material interests whether it be scientific or literary. This and the combination of Article 22, the right to social security, all imply that citizens have the free will and the right to higher education.

Free tuition for all public universities.

Although this idea is controversial, it may be seriously considered. It comes down to America’s priorities in spending money, including what we pay in taxes. Right now Military and Defense spending is imprisoning Americans. Our Prison system is another area in which billions of dollars are spent. 

Perhaps what needs to happen:

CUT SPENDING on Military and Prisons

Tweak TAX SYSTEM

INVEST in supplying materials for Public Universities

Price By Major (perhaps lower costs drastically and charge fees depending on area of study)

Faculty VOLUNTEERS???

qualified educators seeking to gain career experience.

janitors and maintenance (perhaps community service for those who would otherwise be unnecessarily placed in prison/jail)

Throughout the process of this project, I was very confused as to what we needed to do but I was really interested in the limitations that we had. By just getting into it and working on what we can, we came up with some pretty interesting conclusions and got a good kick out of role-playing.

With the role of the analytical, I struggled to understand what was needed from me and how I was to approach the project as a whole. I spent quite a bit of time worrying about the project because I didn’t like the feeling of not knowing. I wanted a linear approach to creating an outcome because that’s what I’ve been used to. Though, through talking with a number of people, I got into the vibe of just going with the flow. I think it was key that I got other people’s and view on the matter, as it definitely made me rethink my view on the project. In saying that, I came to the conclusion that the analytical is what I make it out to be because of how Clinton and James has worked before. They’ve always wondered about what things really are and what it means to be a certain thing. In the end, it’s about your point of view and what you choose to believe in. So for me, I chose the analytical to be the one that concludes all the opposing points from the other roles and decides on what we take out of the project.

Being analytical is one thing, not being anything else is another matter. With what I chose the analytical to be, it felt like I couldn’t do anything until everyone else had contributed something to the table. Though it was a relief not having to look at the deeper meaning on human instincts or the statistics behind it, it felt quite restricting to be filling in one specific role. In the end, I felt like I couldn’t stay within it solely but I tried my best to make it my most apparent role. It lead to me realise the complexity of how we think in a daily basis, comparing different points of views and weighing them in with different scales to ultimately decide on what we’ll do and who we are.

Yellow looked at the underlying meaning behind human instincts and the philosophy surrounding it (Chand, 2015).

Yellow brought up a proposal made by William McDougal, that an instinct must be unlearnt. He elaborates on how society has nurtured the behaviour of thinking about the consequences of our actions before doing them. This proposal suggests that instinct is when we have ignored this behaviour and act without thought. He relates it to how martial artists can react by reflex through training.

He continues, saying, “Technically, we are unlearning how to think before moving; as a result we develop an instinct.” (Chand, 2015).

This is a valid conclusion as he has provided an effective example with martial artists. Instinct is the act of reacting without thought but knowing how exactly to act. Also, he inadvertently concluded that instinct can be nurtured and taught. Therefore, instinct isn’t necessarily natural or embedded in our genes. It can rest within something else. That’s given that we can’t program or embed an act into our genes through experience.

Yellow proceeds by exploring if instinct is self-focused. He elaborates by using mothers’ natural instinct to protect their children as an example. He talks of how mothers’ see their children as an extension of themselves, so one’s instinct isn’t just reserved for one’s self. He also talks of how a child’s instinct is determined by the relationship they had with their parent(s). He didn’t make a conclusion but rather made statements. Relating it to his previous conclusion, because instinct can be nurtured then the statement that instinct isn’t self-focused can be true as it can be nurtured to be focused on other people.
