Getting feedback from your students is important because it is always good to hear other peoples perspectives about something so that you can be unbiased and see things through other’s eyes. Student feedback can enhance your teaching as you are hearing what works for them or what might not work for them which can help change or adapt your practices to be more beneficial for the students. It allows us to track their progress and how they might be feeling about certain things i.e if they are struggling. Then we are alerted to possible concerns and it may help us work with them in specific areas to help get the students to be successful. 

Live streaming is appealing and I can see that it could be used well to show a library event in all of its glory.  I was discussing with a children’s events performer where in the library is best to hold an event, and he said that within the library itself - among the book as sometimes people need to see what is going on in the library to realise that it is for them, and to gain a better sense of what the library has to offer.  And so by streaming an event of any kind, it would showcase what we do in the library to what could potentially be a larger audience than we would have in the library.  This seems to be the key to live streaming, ensuring an audience, and I imagine that this could be as difficult as it is for in-library events.  The great thing about having an online video is that people come across it and watch it in their own time, this is different with live streaming for which you have to watch in the moment, although it seems that the option to record it is available.

Having studied for my last qualification using distance learning, which employed a number of methods for disseminating information online, I certainly feel that watching a conference or training session in this way is incredibly appealing.  This is particularly true in a time and environment where time out of work for training (not to mention travel expenses and training costs) is difficult to find.  The real beauty of live streaming is the interactivity; this kind of discussion allows for a greater sense of collaboration and interaction than a video.  Although there were a group involved in the Rudai hangout, there were many more of us watching and live Tweeting, which enabled a large number of people to be involved while the video element to the conversation kept the flow moving along more smoothly than Twitter chats generally do. 

I do wonder whether this kind of discussion would be useful for online meetings between librarians, again saving the travelling time of 10/12 people.  By recording a hangout such as this, it could then be shared with anyone that was unable to attend the meeting and also used to refer to later by those involved.

To her friends, it probably seemed like that Annie spent her time inside the walls with sitting around, nagging and being slightly overprotective over the human beings she cherished, but that was only a small part of what she actually did. Annie liked the thought of possessing money, but without a fake name and some acting, the shifter wasn't able to work to earn money. So, she did it the easy way.

Eyeing the crowd on the market place from the shadows of an alley, Annie searched for a victim. Putting the hood of her coat over her head, the shifter stepped out of the alley, trying to appear normal as she pushed herself into the crowd. And after only a few minutes, she found someone-- a young woman, probably not older than Annie. The shifter was just able to see the dark green gemstone on the woman's necklace as she passed Annie and damn, she'd love to own that, but the shifter already knew that she probably wasn't going to be able to get it. Some coins from her pockets would have to suffice.

Annie would have to make it seem like an accident. Pushing herself past some people, the shifter tried to get closer again. There she was. But there was also someone behind Annie who seemed to be in a real hurry so they just happened to push Annie towards her target. This was too easy. The woman wouldn't even know what happened.
