Insights into learning
Getting feedback from your students is important because it is always good to hear other peoples perspectives about something so that you can be unbiased and see things through other’s eyes. Student feedback can enhance your teaching as you are hearing what works for them or what might not work for them which can help change or adapt your practices to be more beneficial for the students. It allows us to track their progress and how they might be feeling about certain things i.e if they are struggling. Then we are alerted to possible concerns and it may help us work with them in specific areas to help get the students to be successful.
Getting anonymous feedback is also useful so that the students can be completely honest. Tools to get feedback from students include creating surveys on websites such as Kahoot!, Quizlet and Mentimeter.
