Because some comment warrior pushed my "fat girls can't be healthy" button....😡 AS AN OBESE WOMAN, does being obese have the potential to affect your health, particularly long term, and increase your chances of certain conditions? Yes. But so do LOTS of things. DOES IT AUTOMATICALLY MEAN THAT I AM UNHEALTHY? NO. I'm actually in quite good health, despite a chronic condition that has nothing to do with my weight. Many heavy people exercise, are active, and are in good health. It's not your assumption to make. Period. The point here is that society puts an extreme amount of pressure on women (and men) to look a certain way as oppose to LISTENING TO THE HEALTH OF THEIR BODIES. If the woman in the painting is healthy with, say, 40-50% body weight, then WHO THE FUCK CARES? ( Btw BMI is a bullshit measurement that tells you nothing) Society's opinion has nothing to do with health, and that was the point of the quote. The statement was about SOCIETY'S PRESSURE AND PERCEPTIONS and their influence. It wasn't a health debate. The whole god damn point is people like him insisting someone like me isn't "healthy" based on what they see. Plenty of skinny people are unhealthy and you can't tell by looking at them. That's the point. Every body is different, can we just accept that as part of the magic of human and move on????
