I rewatched the Catching Fire movie yesterday(for about the tenth time)
And out of all the things I could have noticed I was painfully reminded once again of how cute Wiress and Beetee were š
Like I know their age gap is revealed in SOTR but in Catching Fire they were portrayed(in my opinion) as a married couple(in fact even my dad who was watching for the first time was immediately like āomg are they wife and husbandā and you donāt get to disagree with my dad so) and they are SO DAMN ADORABLE
Their friendship??? Their matching weirdness??? How Beetee touches her cheek before the private training??? How heās taking care of her in the arena and making sure sheās okay??? HIS FACE AFTER GLOSS KILLED HER??? HOW HE LOOKED UP AT HER PICTURE IN THE SKY??????? I CANāT

āI know Iām not.ā I stand up a bit taller. āIām just mad at you.ā
āWhy? Because I was honest?ā

When you first met Bucky, he had just been freed from his Winter Soldier mindset. Steve had brought him back in order to help him return to himself. At first, Bucky never said a word. You two barely saw each other because he normally kept to himself. The only time he seemed to socialize was when Steve was home. Otherwise, he was a loner. You didnāt mind; after all, you enjoyed your alone time too. There was one night where he ended up having dinner with you and Steve, just in the kitchen. It was the first time he had stayed at the table. Of course you talked like you had known him for years. His responses were small, but you didnāt mind. You opted to tell him stories of Steve being an idiot or completely oblivious. He didnāt show his teeth, but he did smile. You and Steve, on the other hand, were crying from laughter. That was the night that really caught Buckyās interest. What you didnāt know was that Bucky had continued to ask Steve about you; who you were, what you were like, your relation to Steve. His best friend obliged while smiling knowingly to himself. As time went on, Bucky became nearly as comfortable around you as he was with Steve. He loved your sarcasm and well times bluntness. He had caught you writing a few times as well as singing to yourself. He loved it. The small little things you did melted that icy exterior. Before you knew it, he was playing Mario Kart with you, getting to see your competitive side. One night, after showing him an anime you loved, you fell asleep on himā¦on his metal arm to be exact. That was the night that he realized he loved you. Even when he had an episode, his reactions never harmed you, or even indicated that he would. It was like his mind knew that you were safe. Not much time passed after that until Steve continued to catch you and Bucky cuddling on the couch. Heād always leave you two alone, ecstatic to see his best friend comfortable.Ā
Draco Malfoy
You and Draco had a rough start. You thought he was pompous and arrogant. He thought you were snooty and quiet (due to you being smart). It wasnāt until about 4th year that you both relaxed your assumptions about each other. He may have been at the height of hating Harry, but with you he seemedā¦different. He was quieter, for one, and rarely made fun of you anymore. Unbeknownst to you, it was because he had developed a crush on you. He had seen you defend a first year Hufflepuff from a fellow Slytherin. He wondered why you hadnāt been sorted to Ravenclaw or Gryffindor given those instances. However, he was able to see your competitive side as well. That was when he realized why you were in Slytherin. It was odd to you; he started showing up in places he used to never be. Eventually, you two were on talking terms. Much to your surprise, he never brought up Harry. Instead, heād talk about home or his friendsā¦he rarely talked of his father as well. It confused you. Regardless, you found yourself becoming a friend of his, despite him knowing your stance on Harry (which was positive). Though he had wanted to ask you, he ended up going to the Yule Ball with Pansy and you with one of your friends. It wasnāt until middle of sixth year that he even asked you on a date. At the time, you noticed he wasnāt himself. He was fidgety and looked quite sickly. You agreed to the date as long as it involved something restful. He shyly agreed. The two of you ended up taking a walk around the grounds. It was then that he told you everything that was going onā¦everything. You were shocked, confused, worried, and concerned. You ended up just hugging him for a long time. He didnāt weep, but he did cry while you held him. It was then that you determined you would protect him as best you couldā¦even if it meant standing up to his father. At the end of your sixth year with him, you apparated away with him to a place where no one would find him. You held him through the night while he shook. You knew he was on the wrong end of this, but youād be there with him. There was a reason you were Slytherin after all. (Narcissa also loved you considering how much you care for Draco.)
Gale Hawthorne
You and Gale have always been friends. For as long as you could remember. You hunted with him and Katniss (though he objected at first). You went to the market together to trade. You even enjoyed dinner with him on occasion. He had always been at your side. It wasnāt until he started showing genuine interest in Katniss that you realized your own feelings for him. You didnāt hate Katniss; she was a loner but kindā¦and extremely talented. You also didnāt want to endanger your friendship with Gale by being overtly jealous and possessive. So, you soldiered on and appreciate your time with him as best you could. What you didnāt know, however, was that he also had feelings for you. Sure, he had a growing fondness for Katniss, but you had always been his first love. He loved listening the music you would come up with. He knew you wrote, despite your desperate attempt to hide it. He loved your competitive nature as well. The best example of it was when you and Katniss had a hunting competition. You were both having fun, but Gale could tell you were determined to win. It was a lighthearted competitive nature, nothing malevolent. You had gotten loud the closer you and Katniss were to being tied. Of course, this scared off some of the more skittish animals. Regardless, he loved the smile that you wore. It was driven, yet innocent. It was like a smile from a different time, a peaceful time. It was that very same night when he told you he loved you. You couldnāt help but kiss him before confirming the same for him. From then on, you were barely not with him. Even when he started work in the coal mines, you would sneak down on occasion. You watched his family when you couldnāt make it down. You would do anything for him, and heād do anything for you.
