Annie Cresta is one of the simplest yet most complex characters of the series, because I think she has one of the most realistic outcomes of the games. The Hunger Games aren't something that can leave you mentally strong even if you win, so I think what happened to her was definitely not justified, but predictable. She had just watched her district partner get murdered in front of her and it's natural that she would feel disturbed.

As a character, I think Annie is a character who doesn't get a lot of recognition in the movie. She is definitely a good person, to whom bad things have happened. Her and Finnick's romance was something I loved, even though it was minor, and I was devastated when he died. However, I think, with her son, she could be happy one day (because she definitely deserves to be).

I personally think Annie was reaped for the games, because as much as I like her, I don't think she would be the kind of person to just volunteer. District 4 are not much of thrill-seekers, and I don't think Annie had someone who was reaped she could volunteer for.

As for the ask post-Mockingjay, I think she just couldn't bear to be anywhere near Panem after all the death and grief she endured, so I think she and her son would probably move overseas. They'd probably go to Hunger Games-Europe, and I think they'd be happy there. She probably made trips over to Panem to see Peeta, Katniss, their kids and Haymitch, but she always left Panem because i think that would be the only way she could ever get closure.

I also like to think she named her son Finnick after her husband and his father.

The Hunger Games was one of the very few books that had a very good movie adaptation, and I think that they did justice to Peeta's character, if not omitting a few characteristics.

Book Peeta has been given more time in the books that Movie Peeta has, I think, so a few of his lines or qualities may have been cut. But I think that the true essence of Peeta's kindness, or the nature of his actions towards people were not shown, because of less time on the screen for him. For example, his friendship with Delly Cartwright, the girl from his and Katniss's school from District 12, is never shown. Delly Cartwright heself has never been mentioned.

In Catching Fire, it is shown, however briefly, that Katniss has started to develop sligt romantic feelings towards Peeta, once during the work they did on the botanical book. This, however, her words, her reactions, and his reactions have never been shown.

The films were never able to showcase that what Peeta Mellark ultimately represents is the promise for a better future. Katniss herself said at the end of the third book that what she needed was not Gale's rage, but rebirth and peace, which only Peeta could give her. Those qualities of his which were showcased plenty of times were in the book, were not shown very much in the movies.

But I still think that the movies are great, if not needing a little guidance from Suzanne (or fangirls, if I do say so myself 😜).

I personally think if that happened, and I do think it’s a very probable situation, the games wouldn’t last very long in that case. The event is televised, and the tributes just surviving wouldn’t make for a very good television show. The audience would get really bored just watching a bunch of kids hiding in trees or caves, and the Capitol would lose a lot of viewers. In that case, the gamemakers would send in some ‘natural’ phenomena like forest fires or floods or storms or something to stay them out. Maybe mutts? They’d definitely have to run or escape, and the mutts would, being controlled by the gamemakers chase them to where the other tributes are.

it had real emotion that even someone like me who hasn't read the books (yet) could really feel. jlaw is a goddess basically. the side characters have enough personality to be interesting. the effects were super cool without being overwhelming. there's a much bigger sense of the grand story and not just that battle royale thing.
