Spent a lot of time debating getting #thehousewitch or really any of the other two books in this kind of trilogy. The reason I initially didn’t want to get it is on the back, the synopsis pretty much sets the theme of the book and within this the automatic use of she/her pronouns for Witch was used. I try to over look this as the subject is something I really needed (my witchy books only touch on the home and since I’m here all the time I should turn some focus on it) but the automatic witch = woman thing (as a trans man) is fucking painful. Like the firs “she” causes a split second of panic, like getting misgendered, and then the rest I just end up seething with low key frustration (much like getting misgendered). But from what I can tell the only use of “she=witch” is on the back, and to ignore any further reading of “Witch=woman” I’ll be (either in my head or literally writing in the book) switching the pronouns or just assume the author’s using third person writing.
