so, tonight, myself, my twin and two friends had the wonderful opportunity to go see the live show of Welcome to Nightvale.  And like all adventures, there were hiccups, in which we wound up going to the wrong Carnegie Music Hall (friend thought it was the one on Pitt campus...It was not).  

But!  We did in fact get there, in time to see the show, and it was amazing.  Definitely would do it again if the chance arose.

And, by pure happenstance, upon realizing that there was a drinking fountain in the lobby, we went back into the hall just as Cecil and the rest of the cast were coming out, and got to stop and talk/take pictures/get autographs.  It was great, and they were all really amazing and really sweet.

This sounds amazing and I need to try it. And Turkish coffee is a pain to brew anywhere! @_@

Mmm. I have issues because the boiling temp is much lower a mile above sea level, so I can never get it to foam properly up here :T Still good coffee, though.

The preparation pictured involves a derivative of a French drip, the coffee itself is coarse ground, and it's usually brewed over sweetened condensed milk and then poured over ice. The strength can be easily adjusted via a screw in the drip.

Turkish coffee is super finely ground (often requiring a specialty burr grinder) and boiled multiple times in an ibik/small copper or tin (etc) pot with a thin neck. The main characteristics are the high strength and a light foam on top. It's usually sweetened with sugar and served in a demitasse cup. It is a pain in the ass to make at altitude.

twin is working on her own cosplay for Tekkoshocon, which involves a shitton of detail work, and yet she is still finding the patience to answer my endless rounds of questions, because my diagrams/charts/ect. just don't always make sense or explain things well enough.  She has supplied me with fabric for mock-ups, even after I messed the first one up because of bad directions.
