GREEN 💚 🎶 What's so amazing.. That keeps us stargazing.. And what do we think we might see.. Someday we'll find it.. The rainbow connection.. The color green
Can I just say it really trips me out that Katara and Sokka most likely never saw grass before. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal, right? But what if that's the first time they ever saw the color green or at least that deep bright of a green! It weirds me out that they didn't mention anything about how Katara and Sokka are seeing things they never even imagined! But it's just over looked...

Day 8, May 2 2023
today I topped the experimental pepper. i wasn’t totally sure what i was doing so i did some research and based it off of that. i’m hoping this will create a bushier plant that has a higher yield of peppers, but we’ll have to wait and see. 9 days until i have to fit all the plants in my car and move them halfway across the state and i’m no closer to a solution on protection. i think i’ll have to end up throwing a mesh net over the top of them. i could support it a bit with the stakes i made but it’ll mostly be the plants themselves holding it up. maybe a big clear bin would work for the smaller peppers and increase the temp and humidity. if i get enough mesh i wouldn’t have to worry about it so i’ll keep looking for good cheap 90% light transmission mesh. im going to buy a physical calendar as soon as i can to write on it what plants to water and on what days since i think that will be the easiest way to remember. i didn't water any plants today but tomorrow i think i need to water the peppermint maybe? this is why i need the calendar. i'll look back at yesterdays post to see what i need to do tomorrow.
Day 7, May 1 2023
Today i made this blog. i also potted the peppermint and the basil, as well as repotted the two jalapeño plants to get started on the experiment im running. the experiment will be topping one plant and not the other to see how it effects the growth and pepper yield. topping is cutting off the top of the plant which is meant to encourage more bushy growth and less upward growth. i’ll see how it works for me in my set up in due time. i didn’t top the plants yet but when i do, i’ll include some numbers on height and stem diameter to keep it scientific. i’ll probably have those as separate posts labeled “experiment log” or something cool like that. i also started reading the martian a few days ago so it makes me want to do cool botany stuff like that. i also planted the 3 cloves of garlic in those jalapeño plants’ spot and watered everything. i think i’ll start a regular watering schedule now that everyone should be more or less over the repotting stress. i have to take all of my plants to my parents house when i go for a month during summer, so i have to start coming up with a plan to keep rabbits and cats and such out of the planters. most of my plants need full sun so i have to come up with some sort of net to keep animals away while still allowing all the sun in. i have time to think of something but ideally id like to have it ready to deploy the moment i get there so as to minimize the damage possible by animals and pests. i’m leaving on the 11th so i have ten days to figure something out. some of the plants can be brought inside, like the herbs, but that poses a cat problem that i would rather not have. i could leave them in my car, but that would choke them to death from lack of airflow and also making my car into a green house doesn’t leave much room for me to use it. no need to worry about it now. my main goal over the next week is to get a feel for what kind of care these plants respond best to and to learn everything i can about proper watering and pruning techniques. also right after i post this im going to go cut the flowers off the four tub jalapeños. Tomorrow i’ll label each plant with either a number or name and make a separate post dedicated to what each plant is named. until then i’ll keep smelling this basil. maybe a leaf or two straight up.
Preface
I’m going to use this blog to document the goings on in my “garden” aka the various containers i’ve cut holes in, filled with dirt, and shoved a plant into in order to feel something. i will be giving a walk through of each plant, when i planted it, what i plan on doing to it, and how often i plan on watering it. this first day will be full of posts, but after that i only hope to post once a day or so. maybe a bit more often if i have multiple topics in a single day. also there will be pictures. also the daily posts wont start on day one because i already had a hand written journal but i didn’t like that i couldnt read my own hand writing so im doing this here instead.
