I am absolutely not thinking those things! <<<<<<<3 We are much the same creatures. (I know it doesnāt help much as Iām another female friend, but ā¦)
Nah, it does help because every strike is a blow against the indifference of men! Is a reminder of what is really important. I think thatās probably a good thing and probably helpful. <3

Boy is this post relatable. I mean, except from the accomplished in other areas of life bit (which Iām just not - Iām not very smart and/or interesting in any way, shape or form), I feel exactly the same way. Internet dating is scary af, (especially when even that seems to be based on an initial physical attraction of sorts) but it just seems like the only way to meet anyone these days. I also wish I had a therapist but Iām so broke right now!
Well, for what itās worth, I think youāre pretty accomplished! I am amazed by what you can do with make-up. I feel panicked and out of place just walking through the make-up sections of department stores and never actually try to learn more because Iām too ashamed of my ignorance to ask! And you always look amazing and have such knowledge about it. I donāt know if youāll believe but Iām completely sincere!
Internet dating is ... yeah. Something else to examine with a therapist! I wonder if I should try again but I think I need someone to write my profile for me (because the ones Iāve got are clearly crap) and hold my hand through the process. Not someone who has a very different attitude to dating to me, however, and simply cannot appreciate my very real hang-ups over it. Because one of the worst things has been people trying to tell me how to do it and how it works in a way that might work for them but just makes me feel even worst because I am not like that. (Nothing wrong with people who are confident going on dates, even bad dates, and who can use it as many people clearly do use it - all power to them, but theyāre not the right person to help me.)
I will try to pass on anything from my therapist that seems helpful; I know Iām in a fortunate position financially at the moment to be able to afford a therapist. Though tbh I havenāt been overly impressed so far. I mean, sheās nice and encouraging and I just go and spill all the stuff thatās on my mind but basically I just talk a lot and she asks a few prompts, some of which have provoked some interesting thoughts but others havenāt really. But Iāve only had a few sessions and perhaps it takes a bit of time. After all, itās not like when I saw the school counsellor a few years back when my uncle died and I was deeply distressed and it was sort of obvious what the problem was and how I could be supported. This is much moreĀ āthereās stuff thatās holding me back in life and I want to try to resolve it but Iām not sure what or how and Iām not actively in a bad place mental health-wise but I know Iām not quite right eitherā and thatās trickier to tease out. Especially considering Iām so self-aware so in some ways Iāve already anticipated and answered her questions before she asks them. But knowing myself isnāt the same as being able to change and thatās what I really want! *sigh* Iāll get there!
And so will you. :)
Happy Christmas to all the Sybil & Tom shippers out there! Hereās the first part of my Secret Santa gift to @thebarefootflapperā (the second part will be posted soon).

So as a Reylo convert (even though I'm still sad about what happened at the end of TROS but let's not talk about that) and a newbie to education, I started reading Growing Beyond. I'm up to chapter 8 already and I love it so much! You were one of my favourite writers during the golden age of DA so I can't think of a better way to ease myself back into the world of fanfiction! :)
Welcome!!!!!!
Youāve found a, uh, bad time to join the Reylo fandom, but we have cookies and the best fanfic ever written and best fanart ever drawn!
Iām very excited youāre reading Growing BeyondĀ - it is 100% my outlet for love, frustration and philosophy about education wrapped up in a Reylo fanfic. :P I really appreciate the kind words as well. :)
Love your new icon by the way!

When I was in my Bad Place, I watched this film every single night before I went to bed and it made me feel so much better about things. Itās one of my favourites and now I feel the need to watch it again :)
Ah I can imagine how comforting it would be. It really is magical. I was really into Studio Ghibli when I was in Year 13 (and I was very unhappy then) and Iām sure it helped. Castle in the Sky is my other favourite - have you seen that one? I should rewatch that one next.

Do it. Iād read it x
Yay! One reader. :) I will think about it. I think it could actually work as a story, maybe.

Hello! I loved your explanation of British titles!...
If anon is able to find it, thereās a great series on BBC2 at the moment called Back in Time for School which is quite interesting. Theyāve taken a group of modern teens and teachers and put them into different school environments from the late 1800s to the 90s to show how education has changed over the years :)
Oooh thank you! That sounds really interesting. Iāve not come across that. Iāll have to try and find it for myself (though I donāt know if Iāll have time to watch) and I hope itās helpful for the anon. :)
