Making Sense of Japanese by Jay Rubin has the BEST explanation I've ever read for the difference between Wa and Ga in all my years of study. In fact, he covers a lot of topics that are muddy to intermediate students and does an excellent job clarifying them. The book is affordable and I highly recommend it to every student of Japanese!!

very true. sometimes you can sense the type of aura surrounding a person. the thing is i've known this person for a good amount of time and have gotten to know them as people and i have a good opinion on them...but still i am bothered to be around them. its a weird unnatural feeling idk.

If MS spent a single cent of their R&D money on focus groups and consumer polling they should have seen this backlash from a miiiiile away. Having worked for a multi-billion dollar company myself, and having been privy to board meetings, this REEKS of decisions made purely by the suits that they are now regretting. If MS truly believed this is what gamers wanted, they should have stuck to their guns. Instead, this ended up being a very expensive focus group for them...

When CISPA was introduced and retracted due to negative public perception, did anyone praise the gov't for listening to the people? No. MS' backpedaling is solely for the reason of saving sales and preventing a mass exodus to Sony. It was not in any way because they're are looking out for their customer base, because if they truly were they wouldn't have tried it to begin with. If anything, it shows me that MS is spineless and can't stand behind their own vision of "the future of gaming."
