Ah yes. Of course! Because I, a queer person, saying queer isn’t a slur truly is the epitome of being problematic!
Queer is also the academic term that I have used in essays before and I will continue to use in essays. I will also continue to use it in my daily life! I am queer! I’ve identified as queer since I was 13! I’m now almost 20 and guess what? I’m still extremely fucking queer!
I don’t consider queer a slur and I never will. I won’t apologise for that. I am proud of who I am and what I identify as. A random stranger who is too cowardly to even come off of anon won’t change that. What are you getting out of this? Like, what do you think these messages are going to achieve? Honestly.
If you don’t like me then unfollow me. Nothing I do affects your personal life. It’s my life, not yours. If you don’t like it enough to send me continuous hate messages, then I suggest you just block me.
Did I go off a little too hard? Maybe! But I’ve been receiving every form of hate except threats for over a year. I am sick and tired of it.
Every time i read old classics by old dead dudes (dudes is inclusive of all genders) and I read paragraphs upon paragraphs of descriptions detailing the beauty of a guy, my brain simply goes “gay”
Bonus points if it’s a main character pov describing another man who they are “friends” with (looking at you Mr Watson who was so intrigued by the striking 6 foot tall Sherlock who would “catch anyone’s attention, really”)
I know they don’t all have homoerotic subtext but my brain’s default interpretation is usually that “it could be gay” and honestly it could be
I’m especially fond of the characters who display characteristics in the the aroace spectrum in older literature and art. Makes my heart happy.

So I was talking to a friend about the queer scene in 1920-1940s today and she was like 'yeah and there's this book called My Queer War about how the author went into World War II and just found out that they were all doing the gay thing, and everyone was as gay as he was.'Â
