Was in Portland, OR yesterday and of course visited Powell’s City of Books. Found a lovely copy of “The Final Reflection by John M. Ford in a hardback edition I didn’t even know existed. Reading it—and falling in love with it—all over again.

Reading the Trek books from the early eighties can be a goldmine of humor at what ended up contradicted. Such as this bit I found in The Final Reflection, a book whose portrayal of the Klingons and Klingon culture was almost completely contradicted by TNG and Worf. But really, this one has to take the cake.

So Medical Corps would take issue with Klingons drinking prune juice?

Though it being potentially dangerous to the Klingon system actually WOULD fit with the idea that it’s a warrior’s drink, I suppose...
