The way the question is written, it should be possible to have both, but that might not be the point...

Well, If I knew that the person before me would make the most intense awesome “being with” experience I’d ever have, yeah, I’d take that for a year, even if I’d forever be uncoupled there after. Being alone isn’t that scary to me. That said, second best probably wouldn’t be that bad, but delayed gratification (like cuddles when I’m 64) has never had much sway on my decision making.

t. if everyone in the world would automatically only know one language, which language would you choose?

Pros for English: has demonstrated broad coverage of multinational/cultural communication needs, accepted as a common language for performing arts with remarkably little complaint (there are complaints, but we manage, yeah?), ridiculously huge established vocabulary withwhich a great deal of fun can be had in spoken language, prose, peotry, rap, etc.

Cons for English: spelling Goddamnit, compatibility with Anglo-cultural artifiacts would only continue to prop up the cultural and material legacy of the British Empire. 

Yeah, on that note, maybe we should all just throw it out the window and learn Toki Pona.
