at 5 years old you're in kindergarden, you just learn how to tie your shoe laces, the alphabet and how to write your name. The only ''exams'' I ever had at 5 years old were writing my name on the board and painting a ladybug with half a potato. I live in the french part of Canada so I can't tell for the US, but you don't have exams or learn to read when you're 5 yrs old!
Haha awww now you need to find and post a photo of that ladybug painting, for proof :D but thank goodness then, I mean that's pretty much what we got here too, what they do in pre-school, I mean my nephew is learning to like write his name and learning what the months are called and all. so that sounds.. you know reasonable. :)
