Dunk and his solo performance at the fancon personally did make me uncomfortable. That’s why I scrolled anytime I saw it. To add to that, I don’t have twt (eww) and don’t fully know the whole conversation that’s happening there and the context to the situation, but from what I know…

The choreography and styling of Dunk’s solo performance was weird. GMM should not have allowed that. And even though (assuming) Dunk didn’t choreograph that performance he still consented to it.

People on the stance that it was just ‘sexy dancing’ I can understand like 50% of it. Yes, women are allowed to dance sexually with men and I can see how this performance was choreographed to do that, but with the addition of the costume it 1. creates a very bad ‘image’ 2. portrays women far too sexually for this context (like come on, I think that’s what’s making this big).

I think the grinding was a bit too much and the costumes are what’s making THE ACTUAL PERFORMANCE a big issue. Because women should not have been dressed like that, in addition to the choreography. I know they’re consenting professionals, but it’s the way GMM chose the styling and choreo that makes it kinda icky.

Now, to how Dunk has handled the situation. He’s not Joong, he’s not going to respond to it like how he does. Still!!! DUNK NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION. Even though this wasn’t 100% his ‘fault’ he still needs to apologise. Because this is a situation that NEEDS to be addressed and reflected on. Especially since he consented to it. That might just be the PR side of me talking…I don’t think he will, just by how uncommon it is for idols/actors to do that, BUT HE SHOULD.

Lastly!!! That comment he made on twt…hmmm…he shouldn’t have said that. It just makes it even worse and feeds to the fire. He should also address that. The smug look? I think that’s just him acting for the overtly sexual concept of the performance (that one’s a bit of a hot take, sorry).

To conclude…Dunk should make a statement, because that performance and how it sexualises women is not okay. AND THAT SHOULD BE THE TALKING POINT. Not on the other side comments I’ve heard are going on.
