I'm going to post this anyway, but please don't think I'm copying them (I'm not). We both happen to know ball when it comes to fictional men and their fictional preferences lmao. What about their own grooming habits?

John loves a good bush. It's not even inherently sexual either, he just likes the intimacy of running his fingers through your curls. He enjoys the sensation and you both find it soothing after sex (whoever said Price is autistic, I see you). He's a bush man at heart and I stand by that, but if you prefer to shave? He's doing it for you. He just likes taking care of you and he doesn't want you getting nicked, or burnt if you wax. He's got plenty of experience with shaving his facial hair, so you can trust you're in steady hands.

Kyle would go crazy for a landing strip. He considers it the best of both worlds because he loves feeling skin on bare skin, but he also loves the contrast that the small patch of hair gives. He swears it makes the rest of you feel even smoother. Gaz would enjoy helping you maintain it, finding it cute to switch up the shape sometimes with a diamond or a heart. He'd be obsessed with rubbing his thumb along the strip, tracing the edges of the shape and caressing you.

Johnny will actually cry if you go bald. Genuinely. Even if you only trim or shape it a little; he's in tears. It's ridiculous how fast he switches up, though, because it turns out that he loves seeing how your bare skin glistens when you get aroused with nothing in the way. Still, when you grow it back he'll be all up in there, murmuring about how much he missed your bush like it had sentience of its own.

Simon is the most impartial. I think all of them are to some degree, but Ghost is the most vocal about how your comfort comes first. He wants you to keep yourself however you prefer. Trimmed is good, shaved is fine, completely natural is perfect. Having said that, his favourite is when he gets to feel just how soft your skin is after you're freshly shaved. He thinks it's precious to feel something so delicate because a lot of his skin is rough, callused, and scarred. Like John, Simon enjoys getting lost in the tactile of casual intimacy, simply stroking the crease of your inner thigh like a worry stone.

Btw, some notes, Gaz upgraded the tank to a 100 gallon with a hang on back filter and an air pump powered sponge filter. He also put in some Christmas moss to provide some live plants and has a sand bottom substrate. Gaz only upgraded to the big tank a month after setting up the rescue tank and used the filter media from the first tank to be able to jump-start the cycling process on the second tank, because he's a responsible fish dad.

While I'm at it! A few fish facts:

Every fish (including goldfish and betta fish) need a filter

A betta fish also need a heater, but goldfish is a cold water fish so that means it's fine at room temperature or cooler (think koi ponds)

A betta fish needs a 5g tank minimum, but goldfish get way bigger than betta fish. A single goldfish needs a minimum of twenty gallons, and each additional goldfish needs an additional 10 gallons of space

Speaking of how much space goldfish need, they need a lot because they can easily grow to be a foot long in length. The reason they don't get so big in bowls is because they either die young or they are crushed to death over time by their internal organs growing but their bodies not being able to grow bigger because of the size of their containers (or at least this is what I've been told)

Most goldfish die young. They can easily live to be 20 years old, but many can also live much longer. They are related to koi (which is a big point to make because goldfish and koi are both species of carp!), which easily live to be 100 years old in proper care

Why am I saying all this? Because if you can, please take proper care of your fish. Please get a large enough aquarium for your fish. And as I said, every aquarium needs a filter. EVERY FISH NEEDS A FILTER AND A PROPER AQUARIUM, NOT A BOWL.

In fact, there's a trend amongst goldfish keepers where many people don't keep any substrate (because goldfish can accidentally eat the substrate and get sick) or plants (goldfish tend to eat the plants), though this is currently being challenged by some aquarists.

Also, goldfish are very messy eaters so they need frequent water changes to keep their water clean and healthy for them.

John most likely does not give a shit about what you're going on about unless it's something he finds interesting himself. That doesn't mean he isn't attentive, though. He's happy to listen to you stutter out random facts, asking questions now and then to show he isn't ignoring you. At the end of the day however, he isn't going to remember the specifics when you bring up the subject again in a few days.

Kyle listens intently, letting you talk for hours on end. He asks a few more questions than Price does, genuinely interested in hearing the answers. He'll make sure to bring up the topics you share in future conversations, fully indulging you in your interests of the week.

Simon comes across like he coudn't care less. He's completely silent, letting you talk at him but not really giving much back. All he offers in way of acknowledgement are a few grunts here and there. In actuality, he's 100% invested in whatever you're telling him about and he will be sending you at least three related Wikipedia pages later.

Now, with Johnny... it's really hard to infodump to him because he gets so excited. You and him are interrupting each other constantly. His enthusiasm matches yours no matter what the hyperfixation is, and he needs to hear everything you have to say about it immediately. He'll usually then chime in with his own interests when relevant (and even when they aren't, he just has to tell you anyway).

Sort of a companion and continuation of this post

With the way John keeps his facial hair, you'd expect the same level of obsessive precision downstairs, right? Well, maybe once upon a time. He used to keep it neat when he was in his 20s, but as he's gotten older he simply can't be arsed. He'd absolutely use it as a way to make you feel more comfortable if you didn't shave and you're a little insecure about it. "M'not precious about it, love. I mean, look at me. M'not worried about a bit of bush."

I always imagine Kyle as being very conscious of his appearance and liking to feel clean. For him that means keeping shaved. Throwback to my first ever headcanon about him, but I just feel like he'd have the soaps and shaving creams that are easiest on the skin and also ecologically friendly. He uses the best bamboo razors on the market and he will definitely try to hook you on them too if you're dating. His partner deserves the best, afterall!

Johnny is a bit of a wild card. Sometimes he'll let it grow out and other times he'll shave it all completely off. It mainly depends on how he's feeling when he showers, there's no trademark. He likes the merits of keeping it both ways, so he just alternates between bush, trimmed, and bare whenever he feels like it. If he's got a pretty regular partner he'll be happy to maintain it to whatever your preference is on a man.

Simon likes to keep a physical distinction between home and deployment. If he's deployed he lets it be, maybe trimming it back now and then, but when he's home he'll shave religiously. He's learned to associate hair with the stress and torment of his job, so keeping it maintained and bare is a comfort. Unfortunately, it's also created a bit of a superstition in his mind. He's now convinced that if he skips a shave he'll end up getting shipped off overseas by morning.

John - Mr. John "Let Me Handle This" Price is there to catch you the second you get overwhelmed and start to spiral. He brings you somewhere quiet, dims the lights, and talks you through whatever it is before those doubts can set in. At home he'll tuck you into bed with anything you could possibly need—heated blanket, snacks, meds, your pet, a book, anything. Furthermore, he will not leave your side. There's absolutely no way he's letting you pick back up where you left off before tomorrow and you can trust that he'll be dealing with any source of your stress as soon as you fall asleep.

Kyle - This man, let me tell you. When he picks up the vibe that something is off over text? He's already on his way. He'll bring over your takeout order (he's memorized it), a new squishamal, and your favourite blanket from his couch. Once you're familiar enough with him and comfortable with it, he'll turn off your phone for the evening so you're not consuming anything distressing. Instead, he'll curl up with you to binge watch Drag Race or another light-hearted reality show.

Johnny - Not gonna lie if Johnny sees tears welling up in your eyes, he's going to end up crying too. He hates to see you upset for any reason at all and just wants to make things right. He may not be the best at comfort, but he's stellar at reassurance. Still, he knows ice cream is generally recommended for troubling times, so he always offers. It makes you laugh to see him tearing up whenever you do, but he doesn't mind. He's just happy to get you to smile, even if it's just a little.

Simon - As soon as he sees your face drop after a long day he's wrapping you up in the most tender hug. I'm talking hand cradling the back of your head, an arm keeping you tight to him and rubbing little circles on your back. He doesn't say anything—man of few words—but he'll settle you on the couch with water and tissues and sit with you until you're ready to talk. And if you don't want to talk? That's okay too, he just needs you to know that he's there.

John - You'd been watching your husband play solitaire from across the room for the better part of an hour, salivating everytime his forearms flexed when he turned a card with deft fingers. When you simply couldn't take it anymore, you walked over to the table, lifted his arm, and bit. Not hard enough to hurt him, but enough to leave indents of your teeth in his skin.

"What's this for?" He interlaces your fingers, content to let you gnaw on him. When you don't answer he huffs, shaking his head. "Right. Carry on." He smiles, turning back to finish his game one handed. "Do your worst."

Kyle - Your boyfriend had just got in from his evening run, diligently stretching his out muscles post-workout. You watch them ripple and jump beneath his skin and entranced, you glide over to him in the entry. Sliding your hands along your shoulders, you lean in and bite.

"Alright..." He says slowly while you hold his arm between your teeth, squishing gently. "That's certainly one way to greet people." He chuckles, smoothing a hand over the back of your head. "Missed me that much? I was only out an hour."

You grunt. An hour too long, in your opinion.

"Okay, come on. We'll be more comfortable on the sofa."

Johnny - He's taking a nap on the couch when you wander in to the living room to see his hand tossed behind his head in a way that makes his biceps bulge out. You take a moment to admire them, loving to squish them every chance you can. Eventually just looking wasn't enough and you just had to–

"Ah Jesus!" He shrieks, flinching awake. "What the hell are ye doin'?"

"Biting." You say, blinking your eyes innocently.

"Ach, come 'ere, then." He sighs dramatically but you see his grin when he offers out his arm, flexing for you. "Have at it."

Simon - The two of you are fixing up a meal in your kitchen and you can't help but admire how big he is. Even in socks and a baggy sweater he looked scrumptious. Maybe even moreso than the meal on the stove... Before he even sees it coming, you've latched on to his meaty arm, mouthing him through his jumper.

"You alright?" He raises an eyebrow, baffled and slightly concerned. He's completely frozen until you nod, still attached. "Gonna need my arm back for this."

You shake your head, curling your fingers around his elbow to keep him there.

"But I guess I could manage with just the one." He relents, content to let you keep nibbling while he stirs.

You don't hear him so much as sense when he draws close. The air shifts and you whirl, gun at the ready and finger on the trigger. He reacts in kind, already eying you down his muzzle.

"Easy," he rumbles, not wanting to spook you. "'m friendly." He raises his wrist to reveal a yellow paper bracelet straining around it. It matched your own, so you quickly lower your weapon with a guilty smile. One that he returns, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he lowers his barrel.

"Oh- sorry, I can't tell in the dark." You apolagise, sheepish.

I'm so excited about this ask because I've been mulling this over for months, but never got around to writing it out. You always know what's up!

John is not only big on words of affirmation, but words of reassurance, too. He specializes in talking you through things, proud to be the one you turn to for guidance, support, and comfort. He compliments what you wear, what you do, and what you say. His advice is always sound and strategic, meant to solve a problem while putting you at ease and he'll remind you to stop and breathe when you get overwhelmed, sitting you down and saying that even smart, capable people need breaks, too. Price makes sure to tell you often how much you mean to him and how happy he is to be with you.

"You're so good to me, sweetheart." He plants a kiss on the bridge of your nose. "'M so lucky to have you."

Acts of service come naturally to him as a Captain of course, but he's always especially touched when someone else does things for him. Cooking him a meal especially means the world to him, having someone caring enough for his well-being to take their time and feed him makes him feel incredibly loved.
