I finished being sick today but got back to training on Monday (November 30). I am definitely weaker despite only being out for a little over a week, which seems to happen a lot when I'm sick. I don't understand. Some lifters say you don't lose muscle, just central nervous system accommodation, but I really, really feel weaker even if I'm out for only a week. It's really frustrating! So on my medium day, monday, instead of doing 5x5 I just did 3x5. And man were those tough. But not the deadlifts--I managed my 390x5 single set with relative ease compared to my 260 squat and 215 bench. Weird. Oh and also, my lower back has been KILLING ME for the last few weeks. It doesn't feel injured, just...immobile. I mean, it hurts when I try to bend but it isn't in constant pain, if that makes sense. So today I stretched the hell out of my back and then did some good mornings (135 lbs 5x10). It felt good, weirdly, to load my back in the exact motion arc that normally hurts really bad. So basically my body is a trashfire.
