alright hey guys heres a red vs blue x mcr chex post…..

I dug my sourdough starter out of the fridge last night.... completely forgot she was in there for like 2 months.... I scraped a lot of grey slime off the top to get to what looked like clean starter in the bottom. Took a few grams from that and fed it. Figured I had nothing to lose, if it was dead I was no worse off and if it revived, yay!

Turns out, yeast is very resilient. Perked right back up after just one feeding. Obviously I will be feeding her more before trying to use her again, but I'm very relieved she survived my fridge while I was up to my neck in Hatching Season.

I just ordered a set of these silicone tart cups. They're the right size to make sourdough discard cookies in individually, and I figure my first order of business will be to mix up a bunch of cookie dough, portion it to bake in these, and freeze them in balls. It's about to be really, really hot and I'm not going to want to turn the oven on, but these things can be used in an air fryer to make myself a little treat <3
