#241 #TestTheWaters My wife and I went on a trail walk recently. It was a pleasant surprise to see that the trail was next to a stream. However, it was unfortunate that we didn't bring a change of clothes so that we could have taken a dip. We still enjoyed the walk along the stream appreciating nature and the sounds of the water and wind through the trees. And of course, we couldn't resist. We had to test the waters. We got right next to the water and dipped our fingers in. Ah. Nice and refreshing. Our finger dipping in the stream was a low- risk proposition. However, in not so literal terms, it's important to test the waters to try new things. You can of course just jump in and do it if you're the more adventurous type. But if you're not, then test the waters. Give something a try without fully committing. For example, if you are considering a career change into website development and you work in human resources, before quitting your day job, start practicing website development in the evening after work. See if it is something that really interests you. If it doesn't, that's ok. You still have your day job. If it does, that's fabulous! Go in deeper. Learn more. Explore opportunities. With focused and deliberate learning, you may just find yourself in the position you desire.
