Spoilers for recent Riptide (including 130)
So an ice arena fight between Jay and Chip has a 50/50 chance right? It would probably be a last resort/ straw thing but the tension between their dynamic right now has me intrigued and thinking that Gillion and Aurora might have to tag team being mediator this next arc. Especially because they’re about to be in direct conflict with the navy and Chip hasn’t told about any of Jays family names being on the death list, despite her knowing that he’s not being open about it. I get why but her finding out is going to be worse Chip, come on.
Riptide 130 spoilers:
I hope SO SO badly that Gill will become a leviathan, it would just be so sick. But it would kinda suck if he lost his memories and character development to did it HOWEVER it would be SO SO sick if he had to fight to keep those memories and chose to leave behind the hurt from his past.
Also this means (assuming the pirates become lvl 20) Gill and Aurora can hang out as sea beasts for several centuries!! Hurray!!! And hopefully Chip (Champion of Death) and Jay (Ferin Sun shenanigans and whatever Faye had going on immortality wise) can be saying hi to them small-style for several hundred years as they usher in a new era of peace :)
General Riptide spoilers ahead about Jay (under the cut)
Going from Jays navy spy reveal in ep 53, where everything with the boys was torn between being a means to an end and genuinely caring. Claiming that all of it for her sister and it meant nothing, while bawling her eyes out. Trying so hard to keep her distance but simultaneously being horrible at it. To then going to ep 117/118 where she is panicking about their safety and is not only willing to defy her family but also actively separate herself from them. All because of not just her family’s actions but because “I’m a pirate, why should I have to follow those rules? I have chosen my family, I choose them!”
Anyways Jays awesome. Show her some love.

Was going to be part of an animatic but we’ll see :P
Currently listening to the first episode of riptide since I’m bored and caught up. Man it’s a trip, they all sound so different. Chips more bastardly dastardly, Jays been the main braincell since day one, and Gill doesn’t know how heists work. All of them are the least competent pirates and silliest gooses ever with surprisingly good team work. And also pretzels the goat as always lol.
Thinking about the fact that Gillion was scraping the bottom of the barrel for validation SINCE EPISODE ONE. He grabbed Chip in his arms and leapt from one roof to the next, trying to look as majestic as possible, and his first instinct was to look to John to see if he thought he looked cool.
Gillion has been begging for validation his entire life to the point where once he doesn’t know where to get it from anymore, he’s looking for it from EVERYBODY. INCLUDING AND ESPECIALLY PEOPLE NOT EVEN ON HIS CREW. Marshall John is practically the living manifestation of Gillion’s need for acceptance and appreciation from authority figures and/or the powerful.
