[emerges from the depths] ANYWAY, I have been working on planning what I have been calling the TE [Lawrence] Reading Challenge (like the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge but for people who have Something Wrong With Them), so here is a still very incomplete list of books I can say definitively that he read at some point, it's a sort of companion to the Clouds Hill list
Quick points:
NOT complete!! It will be updated as I go through the letters again (rattling a cup to raise funds for the other Shaw letter volumes 😭) and SP with this in mind, but it's already over 200 titles long which would take me about 4 years (but TE probably less than one) so get a move on!
to be included he must say that he's read it, or reference it in such a way that makes clear he's read it personally not just 'aware of it' (arbitrary I know but I've included the sources if you'd like to confirm or deny for yourself)
while he wrote that all the books at Clouds Hill have been read at least once and worth rereading (SMoL), I have not included them here unless that is corroborated as above
if he only mentions an author generally I've left it non specific unless there's only one option (as is the case with some of the military authors he cites in SP)
lower case letters for the title indicate he refers to it only as 'letters/poems of author' which is more specific than leaving no title but not always specific enough to give a specific book
the check boxes are for my own records but feel free to save a copy if you want to check for yourself
I deliberately didn't include TE's opinions on these, some he loved and some he did not, which I think is the value in contrast to the Clouds Hill list
