So when me and my siblings got snatched by cps from my parents house when I was like 5 years old and my big sister was 12 at the time. My sister apparently really blamed herself for not being able to take care of me and my little brother and for us getting moved to our first (and only) foster home. I only recently found this out from my aunt (11 years after the fact) and she only told me because we had to drive through the town where my siblings and I were in a foster home. My aunt said that the reason my sister treated me like shit and fucking traumatized me was because of her guilt or something. I don't wanna get into too much detail, but basically my sister is the main reason for me having nyctophobia (the fear of the dark, which most children get over pretty quickly) at my big age of 17.

I get physically uncomfortable when going through pitch dark rooms
Does anyone else like flush the toilet at night and then go ‘on god the demon is gonna hear me and get me…’ like what demon bro.
I know this probably sounds weird, but sometimes after midnight, I start to feel like there's something in the darkness. I look outside, and I just see this impenetrable blackness in the place of the hayfield. It feels like it sees us. And I have to close the curtains to shield myself from its sight. And then there's been times when I'm heading to the bathroom, and a part of me is half-expecting a shadow person to be standing there in the dark when I turn the corner.
Sometimes I imagine if I leave my curtains open when I go to sleep, I'll wake up in the middle of the night to find a shadow person (or a stranger) staring at me through the window with a twisted grin on their face.
...Man, I'm just scaring myself even more just writing this out. 😰
