All the Fahrenheit vs Celsius Discourse in the Whumpersphere today’s been a fucking trip because I’m just sitting over here like: “Use... both systems? It’s not that complicated to learn both?”
Also while I’m American and normally use Fahrenheit when I’m thinking about whether, I still believe Celsius is still a better day-to-day system just because the zero point is where water freezes and you start getting snow and ice as opposed to “UHH water freezes at 32, zero is some arbitrary cold as fuck temperature.”
5 *C isn’t quite freezing but it’s still pretty cold and if it’s raining then you’re in for a bad time without waterproof clothing
15 *C is on the cooler end of mild and if it’s shady / wet / you’re from a hot climate you’ll probably be cold, if somebody sets the thermostat below no jury will convict you of killing them.
20 *C is pleasant, this is usually a comfortable room temperature.
25 *C is still mild but getting kinda warm, again anyone who sets their thermostat above this is a complete asshole.
30 *C is pretty hot and exercising in this starts getting really non-fun, you are going to be sweaty.
35 *C is hot, exercise is not fun, however if your body temperature is below this you are having a bad problem and you will go to the hospital today.
40 *C is really goddamn hot, being outside at all sucks. Baths and hot tubs probably shouldn’t go any hotter than this. If your body temperature is above this you are having a bad problem and you will go to the hospital today.
50 *C is ridiculously hot, the air rarely gets above this except in deserts, will give you heatstroke. Water above this temperature can scald you, touching a thing that’s this hot will likely hurt. Temperatures higher than this are still useful for cooking and knowing how fast water will scald you to death.
Also here’s a hot take - geddit, hot? ha ha ha:
Heat Miser becomes a much more credible and threatening villain if you assume he’s using Celsius.
