Last week I reached out to a temp/recruiting agency about fully remote opportunities, and one of their clients extended an offer for a quick 4-6 week assignment as a “remote database administrator,” starting Monday, without even interviewing based on my resume alone. (Temp pay is a third less than my full-time salary, but that’s to be expected.)
I decided to take them up on the offer, since it sounds like an easy gig, and it’d be nice to have some extra money to actually enjoy ourselves this summer. Last summer my husband was the one job searching, and we tightened up our belts quite a bit, because we didn’t know how long that search would actually take.
Also not sure how this will affect my pursuit of full-time employment, but I am feeling pretty worn out overall, so maybe a short temp gig will help me transition out of one stage of my life and into the next. 🤷🏻‍♀️
