Getting glazed pottery out of the kiln is always a bit nerve wracking to me. Because a lot of the time Iβve spent a long time on a piece, with sculptural elements and little details, and thereβs always a chance the glaze just...wonβt work. But sometimes something comes out of the kiln looking exactly like I wanted. This tea set is one of those times.
So, this whole recent kick of fugi-making started with me getting inspired by the KoG announcement animation to try making a vintage cartoon/UPA-style inspired fugi of Teaset. It was a lot of fun trying to simplify the shapes and details!
From there, I had the bug. I loosened up, allowing myself to develop a style that worked for me with less focus on adherence to historical accuracy. Just having fun adapting the designs of friends and streamers I watch.
