Actually this is the first time anyone has asked this! And itโs a good opportunity to drop some info, because I donโt know if Iโm ever gonna mention Nebby in the comics, I actually havenโt planned anything yet in that regard...
But like in the original story of the game, Lillie insisted on El catching Nebby (in this case Lunala), to give Nebby aย โhomeโ and let her be able to see the world and train together. And then El became Champ and stayed in Alola soooo uuuuhhhh so much for going on an adventure in a new region :โD But letโs be real, we all know who Nebbys REAL partner/trainer is anyway... So El decided to keep Nebby for Lillie and give her back to her when she returns from Kanto. El doesnโt really have the capacity to let Lunala stay at her place and take care of her, so she letโs Nebby roam freely around Alola and keeps her Pokeball safe until Lillie returns. Hapu regularly checks on the giant space bat at the Altar of the Moone if sheโs doing okay, while El visits with Latias whenever she can.
