"Like Father, Like Daughter."
Authors Note: This is a small AU where Billy lives, and he connects with his daughter Sam, in the process, he connects with Tara- kinda- not really, but he tries. [I talked about this in my discord]. He protects them during the ending of Scream 6- that's basically what this is, okay shhh
Omg I just thought of something
Can I get your team Loomis headcanons for shits and giggles pls I feel it would be so fun plsplsplspls
-đ©”
uhhhh OF COURSE!!

Team Loomis Headcanons
ââââââââ GIFS not mine
don't you judge me billy ok? I MEAN IT đ€đ (side note: these are based in a universe where Billy's not dead because it's easier and i love thinking about it lol)
Billy wants to be a dad rather than just a father to Sam, but he doesn't know how to do it in the right way, which leads him to fall back on trying to guide her in the right direction, even if he's hard on her about it.
They bicker CONSTANTLY. like we're talking almost every time they have a casual conversation. they're a lot alike so they butt-heads like you would not believe. you want proof? this is from something personal that i wrote a while back in an AU where everyone that was killed in the Scream verse was resurrected. Christina, Billy, Sam, and Tara all live together (just gonna share the dialogue because context is a thing and you'd be lost if i didn't give you a whole explanation):
CHRISTINA: *talking about Tara, who she had to wake up for a doctor's appointment* She's grumpy, so that's your fair warning. I gave her 5 minutes to come out here so she can eat before we go. We'll see if she does it... SAM: You should keep that in mind next time you think she's the good one. I don't give you half the hard times she does. BILLY: Maybe with waking up, that is. SAM: What's that supposed to mean? BILLY: Honestly, you're a handful, and you're 26. SAM: Well, you're 43, and you're a handful, so... BILLY: You watch your backtalk, Sam. SAM: You watch your front-talk, Billy. BILLY: Hey. Those are fighting words. SAM: Bring it. CHRISTINA: Alright, you two. Give it a rest. *beat* Samantha, you really should watch your mouth though. SAM: Me? This one started it. He should watch his. *mockingly* Honestly, I'm 26 years old. BILLY: Oh, really? You wanna play that game?
these hcs are for @alphawolfstabs, so i thought he'd enjoy that, but to everyone else, sorry that was long haha i didn't expect to share it.
anyways, back to the rest of the headcanons!
everything is Sam's fault. or Billy just blames everything on Sam. it doesn't matter who did it or why, if someone asks, you can bet you'll hear Billy answer "SAM!" and it drives Sam crazy.
if Sam isn't feeling well, is hurt, tired, or emotional, Billy is the first to notice (he notices even before Tara does).
as much as it doesn't seem like it, Sam trusts Billy a lot. he's always been right, when it comes to her and deep down (and i mean DEEP DEEP down) there's a place in her heart for him. in other words, she wouldn't admit it, but she does love him.
Billy loves teasing Sam just to piss her off. he does it for fun.
Sam disses the crap out of Billy just to piss him off. she does it for fun.
they make one hell of a fighting team (this one is canon but imagine them in the flesh together)
âââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
just a few for you right there. let me know if you want more and i'll do them in the future! đ
ty for requesting these!! đ©¶
hi billy!! saw your post so i gotta ask bc you asked me haha - team loomis hcs?? please? đ©¶
OHHH ABSOLUTELY SWEET SWEET SAM
[Note: This post will be with Ghost!Billy and a version where Billy doesnât die because theyâre both delicious to me] [SPECIFICALLY for Parker, Parker will see the vision.]
Team Loomis hcs [survivor version] - for the Sam to my Billy đ©”
Billy has a lot of trust in Sam, as crazy as that is. An example of what I mean would be, letâs say, crazy shit starts happening because someone has figured out Billy really was the murderer in â96, he would be honest and open with Sam about it, because heâs worried for her safety, being so close to him. And he trusts her not to tell anyone [unless itâs Tara, which he deems is fair in this circumstance], and he especially trusts her NOT to tell the police.
At First, Billy wasnât sure how to be a dad. He wasnât even sure how to be a normal person. But, once heâs figured out what works for them, heâs feeling comfortable and safe being her dad.
Billy is a menace and does it to mess with Sam. Soft Example:
Billy:..what do you say we go bonding? Sam: that depends on your example of bonding. Billy:âŠI got a new knife, so- Sam:Weâre not killing random people! Billy:OH OKAY. You hate me? You want me dead? In jail? You HATE ME?! Sam:..*sighs* you are so dramatic.
He can be a little too protective over Sam, because thatâs his daughter and yeah, maybe he got a late start at it, but he wants it to be good. Sam gets a partner? Billy intimidates them, on purpose. His reasoning: he thinks itâs safer before she gets attached and gets hurt, because he doesnât want her hurt. [If said partner stays even after his intimidation? Bonus points from Billy]
YOU SAID THIS BUT I WANNA REITERATE: they are nonstop bickering. Thatâs one of the main ways they communicate. Sam says something indirectly about Billy? Billy joins the conversation and it turns into the two of them going back n forth. Billy looks at Sam even slightly weird? Sam calls it out, they bicker. Itâs usually playful and itâs fun and games, even if it bothers others around them
Sam has to convince Billy to try and be a dad to Tara as well. Billy initially didnât want to, nothing against Tara, but he didnât see a reason because she âwasnât his the same way Sam was.â But what really helps convince him? Seeing the relationship Sam and Tara have, it makes him want to parent them both.
Sam can get Billy out of his head and vice versa. Assuming thereâs no Stu here, Sam learns when Billy goes into his head and gets lost in a maze, and she learns ways to get him out of that maze. If Sam is ever stuck in her own head maze, Billy notices immediately, and helps get her out.
Even though theyâre a lot alike and bicker, they never have any actual arguments. If they do, they take time and get some space, and when they come back together again they try and act normal when talking to each other.
Billy would genuinely kill for Sam if she asked.
Sam is prone to seeking validation from Billy, but wonât ask for it. Sheâll do something and just go âhey- I did a thing, wanna see?â And of course billy wants to see, he wants to be apart of what she does, and every time heâs prone to letting her know sheâs doing good / sheâs so cool etc etc
When they FIRST started trying to be Father/Daughter, they both agree to seek therapy, and it did end up working. Now if theyâre still in therapy, they sit by each other and treat it as a gossip session
They both constantly try to scare each other, and it gets worse during spooky season. Billy canât be scared easily, Sam canât either but itâs a little easier. The one time Billy did manage to scare her, he got a knee to the stomach and decided he would not be scaring her like that again because
Billy: Ow- Sam. Sam Iâm in pain. Omg Sam. Sam that hurt. Why would you do thatâ Sam:..you fucking scared me?? What did you expect? Iâve almost died too many times for this shit. Billy: Ohhh youâve almost died?? What about me?? I was stabbed and almost shot!â Sam: You sound like a five year old.â Billy: You look like a five year old.â Sam: Okaaaay old manâ
Along with the head maze: Billy is very observant with Sam. Constantly watching her and making sure she's alright which helps him when too comes to noticing when she's sick / feeling down. He notices way before Tara, and if Sam finds this concerning that's just for her to know.
If Sam ever gets a pet, Billy is cautious around the pet. Especially any kind of dog. Sam will notice, and will slowly [and in a not too obvious way] get them to like each other.
They are both horrible when it comes to saying how they feel. Especially expressing any kind of words about love. So, Billy will randomly leave notes in areas he knows only Sam will find and see and they say various things like "I'm proud of you", "You're a good kid" etc- and Sam loves and appreciates them alot. In return, she buys him small little gifts like keychains or any nicknacks like that because she knows he'll love them.
Ghost!Billy version of Team Loomis hcs! đ©”
Every time Sam is in danger, Billy is there and watching. [yes, this is slightly canon but I wanna elaborate more.] itâs easier to see him in reflective surfaces, and if Sam gets the chance, heâll be there guiding her. BUT, if thatâs not the case: he talks to her. [example of this from something Iâm writing rn for fun âŹïž]
âSaaam..â his voice comes out in a cold singsong way, and Sam shivers on instinct. âKinda busy.. trying not to die here..â She thinks, a ragged breath leaving her as she looks around, trying to map out her area. âYouâre not gonna die..â everytime she hears him but canât see him, it makes her nervous. Anxious. She always pictured him as something that wasnât real. Something that her mind created. This? This is starting to disprove that, and it makes her nervous. âYou are slacking though- Move. Theyâre coming down the stairs. You have.. what? A minute? Losing time the more you lay there.. cmooon Sam.â
Billy is prone to messing with Sam, even in this state. Heâd constantly knock stuff off her desks, shelves- any flat surface with her stuff really. Imagine an invisible cat, thatâs exactly what it is.
Anytime Billy isnât around, Sam gets wildly concerned. In some ways, sheâd be happy. Not having to hear or see him, dealing with his teasing and menace behaviours. But if he isnât around for more than 32hrs she gets concerned, especially if sheâs gotten used to him being around.
Sam constantly asks him his thoughts on things. And it could be about anything. If Sam meets someone new, sheâd find ways to ask for Billyâs honest opinion.
This kinda goes with the one previously, but Billy also tells her when sheâs near a dangerous person if Sam hasnât realized it. Being around Ethan? Even if heâs friendly? Billy is there beside her, talking to her, telling her she needs to grab Tara and run. Billy has no proof to show Ethan is an issue, but Sam does feel obligated to listen, knowing Billy is probably correct.
Billy knows that Tara is mostly unaware of his existence, but that doesnât stop him from trying to get Sam to talk about it. He approves of tara knowing heâs Samâs dad, but he wants Tara to know more. To know that Billy is There. Sam doesnât tell Tara for months about it, from being nervous in how Tara would react.
Sam HATES when Billy jump scares her through mirrors, says itâs irritating and annoying and makes him seem childish. Billy keeps doing it, because he is dramatic and playful.
This was very very fun to think of and write and just RAAAGHHHH thank you. I needed these out my HEAD
Let me know if you want more / your thoughts of these <33

a/n: shoutout to my billy, who inspired me to write this AU: @alphawolfstabs - love you lots billy! thank you for always supporting and inspiring me đ©¶đ©¶đ©¶ inspired by Shadow | Austin Mahone
Being the bad boy with a difficult home life was one of the most misleading things in both observing and experiencing. It was easy. It was simple. At least, this was true for those observing. It was a problem that had logical causes and predictable solutions. However, from the boy experiencing it, things werenât that clear. It wasnât easy or simple. It was a game.Â
And if you looked closely, it was a game that the boy would come to know well. A painful, torturous game that was much easier to play on other people, especially when they donât know who you are. It was all about questions, a quiz, one could say. Or a triviaâŠ
Now, the questions werenât complicated. They were actually very simple, but only when they were placed into the right hands. Only when they were asked to someone with a clear head. Emotions are a dangerous element to gamble with. They are what determines how the game will end. Those who have control over everything going on, inside and outside of themselves are very victorious. Lucky is the right word for it. But when you look through the lens of someone whoâs preoccupiedâwhether it be by confusion, fear, anxiety, a loss of controlâeverything turns around. And those people do reckless things for unexplainable reasons that predict irreversible consequences.
The result? Take it from anyone whoâs been burned with tragedy. It will always⊠always be at the cost of someoneâs life. More times than not, itâs oneself. But then there are those rare cases when itâs someone else⊠someone you had no idea would even take any kind of blame for what you did. And you never know until itâs too lateâŠ
It was from a mirror. It was always from a mirror that Billy had the opportunity to have any sort of interaction, or connection, or bond, or whatever it was called with Sam. He never thought heâd ever have a daughter. He never thought heâd have a kid, period. Who would? He wasnât that type. However, Christina was, and did she fall hard for him. It wasnât a long relationship, but it escalated quickly. Ever since his mother left, Billy never thought twice about shit. Especially about shit like that. He was young, wild, and reckless. Thatâs all there was to it. But when he got that 2 AM phone call, and Christina was on the other line, it was the first time in years that he stopped to think for a second.
âIâm pregnant.â
They both knew he was the donor, but he was 17 and already had a plan. And it didnât involve Christina or a daughter. So, he told her to give âitâ up. Get rid of âitâ. Then, he got himself killed before he found out she never did give anything away.
Now word had it that 13 years down the road, Christina began to resent their daughter, Samantha, and it was all because of him. It was controversial, of course, because honestly⊠How couldnât it be?
Everything fell apart the night she found out that Billy Loomis was her father, her biological father. After 13 years of seeing Christinaâs husband, her baby sisterâs father, Mr. Carpenter, as her fatherâas her dadâit was no surprise that her world was turned upside down. It wasnât her fault. Yet Christina would say it was, because she knew better than to go snooping where she wasnât supposed to be.Â
That was the Loomis in her. And that was what made her who she was. It was what made her a survivor.
Samantha Carpenter would always be Samantha Carpenter. There was no telling her otherwise. It was written on her birth certificate and tattooed on every memory she ever had, before and after she found out the truth.
But through all those years, and even now, Billy had been watching. That was the one thing that he would thank death for⊠he got to be a part of his daughterâs life. Even when she didnât like him, even when she couldnât stand it, even when he teased her and critiqued her and forced her to face the bloodied card sheâd been dealtâthe one that was stained with the blood of a killer.Â
Even through everything, Sam was Billyâs daughter. She was his. And even though he was compatible with the majority opinion of him not being the type of guyâŠ
He loved her.
He loved her a lot. No matter what his background was, Sam brought a light into the abyss of the afterlife. He never had the chance to be there for her like a father couldâve and shouldâve been, but the idea always stayed in the back of his head. Because in the years before she knew about him and about herself, he was not a reflectionâŠ
He was a shadow.
He had seen her be a kid, a little girl ducking into the safety of another man that had no idea just how lucky he was to have someone like her call him âdad.â And while heâd never admit it, the reality of that hurt Billy over time.
He had watched her since the day she was born. Every time she walked into a room, he was there. Every time she turned out the light at night, he was there. Every mirror she glanced in or window she looked out of, he was there, even before her hallucinations began.Â
He had to say, it was strange to watch someone that was half of him live. It was strange in a way that started to restore the emotion in him but only to an extent. He wanted to be more to her than what he was, but he didnât know how to be. Thatâs why he was so hard on her when things started to go south, especially when she was brought back to Woodsboro. When she went to New York, it was the same thing, however, he could feel that they were more than just estranged in the realities of living and dead. And so, he put a name on it: Team Loomis. His words were no less than a mentorâs, but regardless of that, he wanted to be better. Truly, he did. Because in everything she did, he saw someone with a thrill for survival that left him knowing it was bred from himself.Â
But he also saw everything he missed out on, everything that shouldâve been him had life meant to be something elseâhad he meant to be someone else.Â
All the times Sam had called Mr. Carpenter âdadâ or âdaddyâ. All the times she had run to him when she was scared or reached for him when she needed help. When sheâd cry, and heâd held her. When sheâd fallen, and heâd picked her up. When he'd make her smile and laugh, even on her bad days. As she'd gotten older, heâd tell her he was proud of her, and heâd still kiss her goodnight like it was the first night... even after so much time.Â
And then she found out the truth. And she accidentally told him straight to his face, even though she didn't know he was standing right behind her. That little girl and her daddyâthat bond that had been built up on a fantasy sworn to be realityâwas shattered. Just like that.
And she had watched him walk out that door that night, thinking for years-on-end afterwards that it was her fault. That she was the reason he left.
But the real reason was on the wall, a shadow that could only observe in silence like heâd done since the dawn of her time. At that moment, Billy never knew if it was too soon or too late to be there for her. He didnât know how to comfort her. How could he?Â
Only his shadow knew how he felt about her. Only his shadow went where he dreamed of her and him.Â
He was only a shadow, until he wasnâtâŠ
â
All of those thoughts hit Billy as he watched Sam lay nearly lifelessly on the cold, blood-splattered floor, her back to him and her breathing light and raspy. Her clothing was ripped and torn apart, blood smeared over her face and skin, bruises spotted her body, her hair was matted with sweat and stuck to her glistening complexion.
This was the same girl he'd watched grow up.
She didnât deserve the burden life dealt her because of him and Christina, but she carried it anyway. Sheâd carry anything, if it meant keeping the ones she loved safe. What a tragedy... but also so very beautiful.
She was beautiful. She was powerful. She was dangerous. She was Billy Loomisâs daughter.
And Billy felt such a strong sense of paternal instinct, desire, and longing as he looked at her now.
That was his baby girl.
âSamâŠâ he said her name loud enough for her to hear, but gentle enough for her to feel comforted.
At first, Sam didnât move, seeming too exhausted and beat to do anything else but lie so weakly on her side. But then she did.Â
Billy didnât expect her to try and get up, but she did. He wanted to go to her, but he was frozen as watched her struggle, her arms shaking violently, while she pulled herself to her knees. A hoarse grunt that was part-whimper left her lips as she forced herself to her feet. Her face lifted ever so slightly towards him andâŠ
She looked exhausted, like seeing him was the one thing she wanted more than anythingâlike she had felt trapped and alone, victorious yet defeated in this burning place. She nearly stumbled as she started towards him, finding her limp in the pain that was scourging through her.
It was slow, but it was strong in comparison to the desperate need her father knew she had to just fall and not get up. But she didnât. She dragged herself to him with everything she had, until she got close enough for him to hold his arms out, and she collapsed into them. Billy dropped with her as she fell to the ground again, holding her close and pulling her into him. He felt her shudder and grab his guarding arm, like she was afraid he was going to disappear. His fingers combed through her hair, and he felt tears touch the forearm that was held against her cheek.
She moaned in pain, digging her nails into him.Â
Thatâs when he spoke to her. âGood job, Sam⊠you did so good.â He wished he could say all these things, all these words that sheâd never heard from himâthat she shouldâve heard from himâbut when he saw her bare torso convulse to have blood flood out of the gash in her side, that sealed his lips.
But she still held onto himâŠ
Just like she had held onto Mr. Carpenter for years.
âItâs overâŠâ Billy whispered, then bowed to place a tender kiss on her head. âJust rest nowâŠâ
When the paramedics rushed in, Samantha Carpenter was alone.
But Billy Loomisâs shadow never left.

October 8 | "touch."
âYouâre Billy Loomisâs daughter.â
I used to hate that. I hated his name off my tongue and off the tongue of others when it was spoken towards me.Â
Billy Loomis was someone I hated seeing, hated claiming, and hated being related to. So many people have dirtied my name with what he did. And I believed them.
The funny thing is that all he ever did when he came to me in visions was help me. Or, at least, he tried to. I didnât want his help, because I didnât want him in my life.
But seeing visions of my father, having him guide me, and even having the ability to act on his example wasnât a curse. It was a privilege. There are millions of fatherless individuals out there that would give anything to see their dead, estranged, or absent fathers.
Iâm lucky. At least I have a father that wants to be in my life. He actually wants something to do with me. He didnât ask for me, but he was there when I needed him even though Iâd refuse him.
Itâs been a long time that Iâve spent thinking. I canât say that I love him or that I wish he were around and not dead. But I can say thatâlike my motherâhe is a part of me, and whether I like it or not, I am like him.
Iâm a lot like him. Itâs in my eyes and the way I walk. Itâs in my thoughts and the way I talk. We reflect each other so much that itâs purely ironic that I only see him in reflective surfaces.
âI spent my whole life huntinâ for those demons in the wild. And the entire time they were hiding inside my own belly. Sad state to spend your life in, being afraid of your own self. I know it⊠wasnât easy on you kids. Got a lot to regret about my life.â âDadâŠâ âNever forget how beautiful you are, Mountain Goat. And smart⊠and creative, and strong⊠Youâre so strong. No little girl should ever have to carry her daddy on her back. You ainât like me at all, Mountain Goat. Youâre not afraid.â âI am like you. And Iâm glad.â
I heard that conversation in a movie recently. The Glass Castle. It was said between Rex Walls and Jeanette Walls, father and daughter.Â
It hit deepâso deep that I looked in the mirror and saw my father staring back at me. He wasnât over my shoulder, he was overlaid over me.Â
My father is Billy Loomis. It is my privilege to call him my father.
I am a hell of a lot like him.Â
And Iâm glad.
p.s. honorable mention @redwolfstabs - some team loomis vibes for you đ©¶
