  "Honey, I'm home!" Callum called as he closed the door behind him, silencing the shrieking wind outside. Rayla looked looked towards him with a smile as he took off his outerwear and came over. When he finally reached her, he leaned to down to kiss her.

  "How are you and the baby doing?" He asked as he caressed Rayla's bump and planted a kiss.

  "We're doing fine," she answered as she placed her hand over his. "How did the mission go?"

  But before Callum could go on to tell Rayla more about the hunt for Claudia, he noticed her smile not reaching her eyes. He sat next to her and took her hand in his.

  "Rayla, what's the matter? Please talk to me."

  Rayla let out a heavy sigh as she put down her herbal tea.

  "Callum, you know more than anyone how much I want to keep our little one safe, I really do, but…"

  Rayla looked away to avoid Callum's gaze. She took a deep breath then continued.

  "I just can't help but feel like there's so much more I should be doing now and I'm just… holding everyone back."

  Callum grabbed Rayla's cheek and gently turned her gaze back towards him.

  "Oh Rayla," he started, rubbing her cheek with his thumb. "Just because you're not back flipping or swinging your blades at the moment, it doesn't mean you're not on an important mission."

  He reached for her bump and looked at her lovingly.

  "Our baby is the future, and your mission guarding it is just as important, you know, just like when you protected Zym at the storm spire instead of fighting on the field, as the last dragonguard."

  The gleam in Rayla's eyes grew brighter as she remembered that time and she stroked her belly.

  "The last dragonguard," she repeated, leaning forward to kiss him.

  "Besides," Callum started. "If you want to move around a little, I have an idea."

  Callum gently helped Rayla up and lead her to the center of the room. He guided her hand to his shoulder and grabbed her waist on one side, then interlaced their fingers together on the other.

  "Let's pretend we're at one of those Silvergrove dance festivals."

  They began dancing as the fire crackled nearby, with any music left to their imagination. Rayla felt her heart soar as Callum spun her around and pulled her back into his arms. She slowly leaned her head into his chest as he held her hair and stroked it. They continued to sway throughout the room for moments to come.

  When they finally reached their limit, Callum and Rayla snuggled under the blanket on the couch, with Rayla dozed off in Callum's arms while he leaned his chin over her head. Stroking her arms, he drowned deep into his thoughts.

  Despite being ecstatic over his growing family, he couldn't shake the dread over not being able to find Claudia or stop Aaravos's impending return. He and Rayla have talked about this multiple times — having been doubted for their decision to keep their baby and to not continue living in fear.

  Callum gripped Rayla tighter.
