To celebrate National Popcorn Poppin' Month at Taskhub we found you this unique and delicious popcorn recipe from Diethood.com that you can do with your kids this half-term.
Chocolate Covered Caramel Popcorn Balls
Ingredients
14 cups popped plain popcorn, about 1 cup or a bit more of unpopped popcorn
Taskhub is the online platform where you can find people to help you with all kinds of Tasks and errands.
You can post pretty much anything on Taskhub and we welcome the random, interesting and diverse ranges of Tasks.Â
This week our Task of the Week is 'Looking for a lift.'
                                Source: Chris McKenna (Thryduulf)
The Task is a little unusual as instead of asking someone to come and help them, they are looking to borrow an actual lift for the day.Â
The user would need to borrow the lift to film a low-budget video for a competition.
It all sounds very intriguing and it would be great to have a lift that you know star in a short film. Plus getting paid ÂŁ250 to lend the lift on a Sunday definitely sweetens the deal.Â
The question is: do you know of a lift that's free on a Sunday? Does your office building have a lift? Or do you know anyone who might?
Sign up to Taskhub today, bid on this Task and don't forget to spread the word about the great opportunities you can find on Taskhub.Â
Task of the Week: Finding the Perfect Person for the Job
These days everyone seems to be a photo expert, toting enormous cameras and flaunting their passion for capturing the moment. Photography has become really popular recently with many people investing in their equipment and passion for photography.Â
Nonetheless, this doesnât necessarily mean that these photographers have the right expertise to take professional photos for a specific purpose. So, what do you do if you do need some pro shots done?
Pay for a professional or get your mate with an SLR to take the photos for you? Or⌠do you post it on Taskhub and find someone local who knows what theyâre doing?
Adam, a Task Requester, used Taskhub to get some professional photos taken of the flat he is renting out, so he posted on Taskhub. Through Taskhub Adam found Richard, a âfriendly and punctualâ photography whizz, to help him out at the price he specified.
We interviewed Richard to hear about his experience as a Task Doer on Taskhub.
Taskhub: How did you hear about Taskhub?
I heard about Taskhub from my wife. I think she saw it on Facebook.
Taskhub: Why did you bid on the Task?
Richard: I've got a good camera and I'm not too bad with my photography skills. I had some spare time so I thought it would be good to see if I could earn a bit of money.
Taskhub: Did you meet anyone nice?
Richard: Yes, I did indeed. Adam, who was looking to let out his flat. He is a lovely chap!
Taskhub: What else would you bid on Taskhub?
Richard: I would like to bid on more photography jobs. If someone needs photos taken and I have spare time, why not? Itâs some extra cash. I would be able to handle some simple IT jobs too, so I will be keeping an eye for those requests as well.
Taskhub: What did you like the most about Taskhub?
Richard: I think that the website is simple to use. It is very informative and useful. Although, it would have been helpful to know the size of the commission that Taskhub takes earlier in the process and called out more explicitly in the bidding process.
We at Taskhub would like to thank Richard for his helpful feedback. In our next release we would make sure everything about the bidding process is clear!
Richard bid on a Task at Taskhub and earned some money by doing something that takes no more than a couple of hours that he enjoys doing anyway. Adam found someone trustworthy to get his job done quickly and easy.
Why donât you post a Task on Taskhub and try the service? Share the experience with us by simply taking our survey here or by contacting us.
Whilst mums and dads know that home-cooked food is best for their children, they can be put off eating real, home-cooked food as it can be too consuming to prepare. In the busy life-style of many parents, cooking from scratch seems like a no-can-do task.
The tradition of home-cooked dinners has declined and now crisps and frozen pizza are on the weekly menu of 6-8 year olds.
Itâs a shame that children are eating convenience foods regularly from such early age as, apart from the health implications, it also means that youngsters are unaware of the benefits of preparing fresh meals.
At Taskhub we want to encourage parents to stop turning to takeaways and instead make homemade meals. So hereâs a quick recipe for a healthy meal that only takes 15 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to cook.
Spinach, Mushroom & Lemon Pilaf
Ingredients
200g spinach, washed & roughly chopped
lemon, zested and juiced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
50g butter
250g basmati rice
150g chestnut mushrooms, sliced
2 onions, finely sliced
1 cinnamon stick
4 whole cloves
4 bruised cardamom pods
MethodÂ
Cook the onion and garlic in the butter in a large shallow pan until soft and golden.
Add the mushrooms and cook until softened.
Add the spices and cook for 2 minutes, then stir in the rice, lemon zest and stock. Cover.
Cook on a gentle heat for about 15 minutes until the liquid has been absorbed.
Stir through the spinach and lemon juice, cover for 2 minutes until wilted.
Serve.

A new survey released today reveals the top reasons that cause problems between neighbours. Are you affected by any of the below complaints?
1) They block my drive
2) They park in my space
3) Their dog barks all day
4) Their garden is a tip
5) You can hear them swearing in the garden
6) They are always rowing
7) They host too many late night parties
8) Their cats do their business in my garden
9) Their children are loud when in the garden
10) I just can't be bothered to speak to them
11) They have let their house go to ruin
12) They light bonfires
13) They let their wheelie bins overflow
14) Their trees are blocking my light
15) The children kick a ball against my house
16) They are always showing off
17) Their children peer over my fence
18) I just don't like the look of them
19) They got annoyed when I had a party
20) They don't bring our parcels around
The survey of 2000 people by insurance firm Swinton also showed that 28% of people said they would never socialise with the neighbours and a tenth even said they've had a long-term feud with their neighbours thatâs been going on for over four years.
It makes us sad at Taskhub to think that people can live so close by and yet not get along. You canât choose your neighbours, but at least on Taskhub you can find someone nice and local who can help you out. Sign up here to find nice people in your community.

Should the government impose a charge on plastic bags in England?
This question seems to have sparked a lot of debate during the last few months in UK. In the last few months it was announced that both Northern Ireland and Wales have imposed charges on carrier bags, while England trails behind with no charge.
It may come as a shock to people in the UK, but there are countries such as Sweden and Norway that for a long time have been accustomed to the method of paying a little extra to be able to use a plastic bag.
Being from Sweden myself, I know how much people value environmental sustainability hence no one seems to mind to pay a few additional pennies for a good cause and to reduce bag usage.
In July 2012, the BBC announced that there has been an increase of 5% in plastic bag usage in the UK, increasing from 8 billion in 2011.
Environmental campaigners such as Greenpeace, have long been against the excessive use of plastic bags as much of the waste has led to environmental implications.
According to the Marine Conversation Society the bags have been harmful for animal life as animals often mistake them for food and get tangled and in worst case die of suffocation.
Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) say that many bags do not get recycled, but end up on the streets and take thousands of years to degrade.
The government argues that the purpose to impose a charge is to change consumer behaviour, encourage recycle which in the long term will have benefit on the sustainability of the environment.
Here at Taskhub we believe in recycling, hence we recently just designed our own Eco friendly, Taskhub-bag!
Would you like a Taskhub bag? Send us an email to info[at]taskhub.co.uk telling us why you love Taskhub and  we'll send you a bag for free.

Following on from our post on the Go Local event at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and this article in the BBC, we wanted to hear your feedback and views on the legacy of the 2012 Games.
The Olympic legacy has been a big point for debate since even before London was chosen as the host city for the 2012 Olympic Games. Back in 2012 Mayor of London, Boris Johnson promised that:
âwithin a year of the close of the 2012 Games, the Park will be ready to welcome not only another major sporting event, but also the thousands of residents and workers who will reap the benefits of this brand new district of the capital.
In your opinion, have the Games created a lasting legacy for the capital and if so, to what extend?
