Task of the Week: Finding the Perfect Person for the Job
These days everyone seems to be a photo expert, toting enormous cameras and flaunting their passion for capturing the moment. Photography has become really popular recently with many people investing in their equipment and passion for photography.
Nonetheless, this doesn’t necessarily mean that these photographers have the right expertise to take professional photos for a specific purpose. So, what do you do if you do need some pro shots done?
Pay for a professional or get your mate with an SLR to take the photos for you? Or… do you post it on Taskhub and find someone local who knows what they’re doing?
Adam, a Task Requester, used Taskhub to get some professional photos taken of the flat he is renting out, so he posted on Taskhub. Through Taskhub Adam found Richard, a “friendly and punctual” photography whizz, to help him out at the price he specified.
We interviewed Richard to hear about his experience as a Task Doer on Taskhub.
Taskhub: How did you hear about Taskhub?
I heard about Taskhub from my wife. I think she saw it on Facebook.
Taskhub: Why did you bid on the Task?
Richard: I've got a good camera and I'm not too bad with my photography skills. I had some spare time so I thought it would be good to see if I could earn a bit of money.
Taskhub: Did you meet anyone nice?
Richard: Yes, I did indeed. Adam, who was looking to let out his flat. He is a lovely chap!
Taskhub: What else would you bid on Taskhub?
Richard: I would like to bid on more photography jobs. If someone needs photos taken and I have spare time, why not? It’s some extra cash. I would be able to handle some simple IT jobs too, so I will be keeping an eye for those requests as well.
Taskhub: What did you like the most about Taskhub?
Richard: I think that the website is simple to use. It is very informative and useful. Although, it would have been helpful to know the size of the commission that Taskhub takes earlier in the process and called out more explicitly in the bidding process.
We at Taskhub would like to thank Richard for his helpful feedback. In our next release we would make sure everything about the bidding process is clear!
Richard bid on a Task at Taskhub and earned some money by doing something that takes no more than a couple of hours that he enjoys doing anyway. Adam found someone trustworthy to get his job done quickly and easy.
Why don’t you post a Task on Taskhub and try the service? Share the experience with us by simply taking our survey here or by contacting us.
It’s the time of the year when the sun (sometimes) shines and people enjoy wearing summer clothes.
Ladies, what do you think about this dress (below)? Gorgeous, isn’t it?
This dress belongs to Melissa, a Task Requester and here is a little story about Melissa’s dress.
Being a Task Doer myself
The thing I’ve enjoyed the most since launching Taskhub is how our users have been in touch through emails and phone calls to share their feedback on our platform. A few days ago, Hannah even came to the office and suggested adding a feature on Taskhub, which our team created and released last week!
Another way to learn about user’s experience is to become a user. Simple.
About the Task
A few days ago, as I was monitoring the activity on Taskhub, I came across a very nice Task: Pick up my dress from Soho dry cleaner.
After reading the details of the Task, bidding and winning the bid (OMG, you should have seen my excitement then…), I exchanged a couple messages with Melissa to know the details of where to pick up the dress and where to deliver it, and off I went!
I make it sound like an adventure, but really it took a 5-minute walk to get to the drycleaner’s!
Picking up the dress
As I waited a few minutes at the drycleaner’s for the dress to be ready, Melissa and I texted each other. I first did not quite understand why Melissa called me ‘a saint’. She later explained what this dress meant to her and why it was so important for her to have it delivered that day itself: it was the dress Melissa was going to wear the very next day at a Ball in Oxford!
Delivering the dress
Again, that was very simple as Melissa’s place was a couple tube stations away from the drycleaner’s.
Melissa had given me details on how to get to her place and keeping in mind I have little sense of direction (not to say none at all), I think I did pretty well!
Melissa’s husband opened the door and took the dress, probably feeling relieved.
The Big Day
A few days ago, Melissa shared a photo of her and her husband at the Ball. Don't they look like happy?! I’ll let you guess how I felt.
Thank You Melissa for choosing me!
Through Taskhub, Melissa was able to get the help she needed on a day when she was not feeling well enough to do it herself and I was able to make a bit of money doing something very easy. Most importantly, I was able to give someone a hand.
Melissa thanked me and called me her ‘life saver’. I would like to thank Melissa and everyone, who’s been so kind to share their feedback and suggestions with me. This is what motivates me and my Team to do more on Taskhub!

Multi-tasking and juggling a long to-do list is like a walk in the park for many mums. Now a new survey has confirmed this by revealing that the average number of tasks a mum does every day is 26!
The survey by optician’s campaign Jul-Eye also revealed that around 85 per cent of the mums surveyed said that their to-do list of tasks can often get “too much” with Mondays being the worse day of the week for mums.
Here is the list of tasks the average mother contends with every day:
THE BUSY MUM'S TASK CHECKLIST
1. Brushing their teeth
2. Having clean uniforms ready
3. Remembering any doctor/ dentist/ opticians appointments
4. Getting the kids to school on time
5. Keeping on top of calendar dates classmates birthdays/ anniversaries/ important dates
6. Laundry
7. Making kids' breakfast
8. Remember lunch boxes/ dinner money
9. Making sure they have a good meal to come home to
10. Making sure the cupboards are stocked
11. Getting the children to bed on time so they are not tired in the morning
12. Making sure they actually eat their breakfast
13. Making sure they take a drink to school
14. Ironing
15. Reading homework/ preparing kids for tests
16. If it is raining making sure they have a raincoat
17. Remembering P.E. kit and other essentials
18. Permission slips
19. Remembering to brush the children's hair
20. Making sure they take their homework in to school
21. Putting sun cream on them before they go to school
22. Make sure they've gone to the toilet before getting in the car
23. Making sure the pets are fed
24. Keep on top of uniform/ patch up holes
25. Remembering afterschool clubs
26. Keeping on top of daily medications/ vitamins/ supplements
My mum has raised 6 children and her famous quote is “motherhood teaches you that you can do anything one-handed,” but I don’t think she used to juggle all of these tasks and would probably say that some of them are unnecessary.
Do you do this amount of tasks every day? Is your to-do list “too much”?
