#tanooki leaf

2024 vs 2023. I always wanted to redraw this artwork as I felt I definitely could do it more justice than I did initially, and Valentine's Day yesterday gave me the perfect opportunity lol

Tanooki Toad! I'm taking lots of screenshots to complete my monograph on the playable characters of Super Mario. I've been working on this project for almost a year and it ended up looking like an encyclopedia more than a monograph.

Thought I'd show off one of the things I did today :3 I'm quite proud of this. Yesterday, the Tanooki Leaf would fall straight down just like the Ice Flower at the beginning of this clip. Now, it floats down like in the original games, with sound effects, some nice rotation, and a bit of squash & stretch. I don't consider myself all that aesthetically talented, so I'm very pleased with how I got the motion and animation to look here.
