Hi, I've been a longtime follower and I was wondering if you would be able to help. I start teaching visual arts in the fall for middle schoolers and almost all the resources I'm looking at for developing a curriculum are focused on Western, white, male artists. Most of my students will be low-income, students of colour. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for adding in a larger variety of artists or movements?
Honestly, I’d start browsing the Static Resources Page with the goal of either diversifying the curricumlum within whatever limits you’ve been set, or scroll towards the end and just start with the concept of going outside the Eurocentric box as much as possible. Since I don’t know what kind of structure you’re working within, and considering how wildly such things vary depending on your nation, state, county and district (or equivalent), I can’t really be more specific than that.

Sometimes mundane things like sitting out in the sun with bare legs or sitting on the shore of my favorite beach. Mostly possibilities of the future - what it would be like if I became a forensic anthropologist or opened a book store or working at the integrated preschool my mother really wants to open. And where I’ll be living, and who I’ll be with, and things like that
violet:who do you feel the most commitment toward?
I feel like this is a really hard question to answer because it’s hard to define “commitment” in this sense. My little sister, maybe?
iris:what are you most knowledgeable about?
Bones!! And a lot of things that relate to that - human evolution and human ancestry, human variation, things like that. I also have a decent amount of knowledge of the history of musical theater and film history, but those are both things I have picked up in pieces versus studied

Milan: How do you think others describe you? I honestly have no idea. I would guess that others describe me as probably pretty spacey, hippie, kind individual? or so I hope.
New York City: What gets you up in the morning?Obligation, mostly.
Madrid: Describe your aesthetic.A little femme-y, a little butch, depends on the day, depends on my mood, depends on the weather. If I had to pick what I would ideally look like every day? Probably would be going for something comfortable, but able to move around if I need.
Mumbai: What is your favorite scent?My favorite scent is the smell of horses. It’s wildly comforting to lean into a horse side and lean your head on them and smell the dust and the hay. It’s a warm scent. idk, maybe that’s weird.

Going with one for each because I can't make decisions. For singer I'm currently big on Imelda May. Her sound is a mix of almost all of the music styles I like and she has this very retro vibe. For band I'm going with a tie because yes I'm the worst but the Dixie Chicks and Fountains of Wayne have an equal amount of love and nostalgia in my heart.

6 1/2 or 7 usually
37) Do you shower facing the shower head or turned away from it?
Away. Facing toward it always makes me feel like there's something behind me.
40) Do you still watch cartoons?
Yeah. I feel like if it's good it's good and I don't care. Avatar is a big one for me, and tbh I still watch Arthur on a fairly regular basis.

yeah, that's how I felt. like seeing something that he thought I would like and telling me about it or asking if I knew the artist's work would be one thing, but a) he doesn't know anything about me (except apparently that I'm a feminist, he caught onto that one) and b) that's not what he did at all.
I replied to one message from him out of like eight because he said he had to ask something and I thought it would be if he should just stop talking to me, but it turns out he wanted to know if I would write for some website he's doing. like I don't know this kid I don't want to write for your thing??? so I'm done.
