🔥 : What’s a surefire way to make your OC get flustered?
🧸 : Into public displays of affection or are they more reserved?
💌 : How would they plan a romantic evening for a significant other?
Omg these have been buried down in my drafts and I just ran across them. I’m sorry! 😭 And it’s been so long that I’ve already lost the original link to the asks - if I can find it I’ll edit the post. Thank you for sending me the asks though and being patient with me 💜💜💜
😍 What does your OC find irresistible in others?
Ellie: Competence without arrogance. Someone who knows what they’re doing, doesn’t need to prove it, and doesn’t need to announce it. Also, someone who can see through her defenses and call her out on her bullshit, especially she’s so good at doing it to others herself.
Aoife: Wisdom and curiosity. She’s naturally drawn to people who genuinely want to understand the world around them. That’s initially what draws her and Gale together in the Underdark. Just two hopeless nerds bonding over questions and knowledge.
Cecilia: Passion, and not just romantically. She loves people who care deeply about something, who puts their heart into it, and aren’t afraid to be vulnerable in that devotion. I think that’s what makes her fall for Wyll initially — his unwavering dedication to being the Blade of Frontiers. Then she sees what that has done to him emotionally and helps him realize he deserves to exist as more than just the role he’s built for himself.
🔥 What’s a surefire way to make your OC get flustered?
Ellie: Getting past her walls she’s built so meticulously. She has no issues doing it to others, but when someone (definitely not a particular wizard) does it back to her, especially without an ulterior motive, it completely throws her off-kilter. She’s so used to seeing people as transactional that attempts to connect leaver her feeling very exposed. Which is unfortunate, because feelings are terrible.
Aoife: This one was hard to answer for Aoife because with her personality it would be harder to fluster her. As a Druid she views connection/emotion/physicality as natural parts of life rather than something inherently embarrassing. More often than not, she’s the one unintentionally flustering everyone else by saying deeply personal things with complete sincerity and absolutely no regard for social timing.
I could see her not quite fully understanding sarcasm, and it would fluster her when someone like Astarion (who’s dripping with layers of dry wit and implications) shoots off with something. She takes it for face value, he rolls his eyes and treats her like a silly little thing, she demands he explain it, he gets annoyed…
It’s okay, she’ll get the hang of it eventually.
Cecilia: Being genuinely seen beneath the superficial parts of her and appreciating it. She’s used to being admired for her music, her charm, sometimes her looks, and she’s often so focused on making others feel understood that she rarely expects the same in return. Someone taking the time to really value her thoughts/feelings/dreams/opinions catches her off guard.
Actually, now that I think about it, she’d probably also become flustered by being taken seriously. With her warmth and whimsy, people often underestimate her at first, mistaking her optimism for naivety. So when someone actually trusts her judgment or seeks out advice from her, it affects her more than she lets on. I think that’s why I was able to ship her with Wyll so easily. They’re both younger in the group (besides Lae’zel I think?), so I can see how the others would look at her sideways for a little while until they get to know her. But I think Wyll sees hope in her that mirrors his own somewhat, and they hit it off.
🧸 Into public displays of affection or are they more reserved?
Ellie: More reserved, because that kind of display feels too vulnerable. Private affection is completely different and she melts immediately. She eventually she becomes a bit more comfortable with small gestures, like handholding or a simple I love you…but even that feels like too much at times (especially if someone calls her out on it).
Aoife: Not opposed to it at all. Her and Gale become the kind of couple that unintentionally makes everyone else in camp gag with how openly in love they are.
Cecilia: Yesss. Not over the top but she will dote on her mans. Linking arms, holding hands, fixing clothes absentmindedly. Oh, I bet she’d steal kisses when she could. Oh god, I’ve made two grossly in-love characters.
💌 How would they plan a romantic evening for a significant other?
Ellie: She leaves the extravagant planning to Gale. Her version is quieter and more personal: dinner at home, a small place to eat, a walk somewhere after a hard day. The part she plans are the small details she’s quietly observed, like bringing home ingredients for a meal he mentioned one time, choosing a quiet spot they both know and enjoy, remembering things he mentioned in passing that he’d like to have/try. And no matter how much she’s planned it, she’ll always downplay it with a, “Thought you might like it.”
Aoife: Would be very intentional and thoughtful. She ties meaning into everything already, and that would go double for planning dates. She would plan it around special days, stars, timing, location, etc, etc. Lots of symbolic details. And yes, her and Gale are highly competitive and constantly trying to outdo the other for elaborate date nights and anniversaries.
Cecilia: Cece is the type of person who knows that life can be frightening and painful and temporary and insists of making it beautiful anyway, so I could see her being over-the-top with cliche but whimsical dates. Festivals, dancing in the rain, scavenger hunts. OMG. She totally would do scavenger hunts…and Wyll would take them so seriously, too. AND OMG what if Wyll proposes to Cece with a scavenger hunt because she does them so often? Brb going to go write that down!
