In our system, one member often functions as something we call an "operator" — they rarely front, but they're almost always co-conscious to talk us through whatever we're doing (work, chores, meltdowns or flashbacks, art, etc.)
What's unusual about this is that our current operator, Lily, is able to stay co-conscious even when the body is asleep and we're dreaming. She isn't in our dreams as a character, but she can comment on them like our mind is a Twitch stream.
Even though our host isn't aware she's dreaming, Lily exists outside of the dream and can point out things that don't make sense when no one else notices. Last night she "hacked into" (think computer hacking) a nightmare so we could escape and eventually wake up.
We don't really classify this as lucid dreaming — our system is monoconscious, and for us to be truly lucid the host would have to become "aware" without waking up. We're not actively trying to lucid dream as we feel it would worsen our dissociation + false memories, but it's certainly interesting to imagine what it would be like as a system.

That's a cool role, we don't have anything like that in our own system. Maybe the alters who linger around in the background count but we don't have a role attached to them.
I wonder if there's others with this sort of role though.
