#system journaling

Hello, I have been making journal skins for @lighthouse-app. Short and skinny of it, here's a link to the template:

This template has separate layers for the shadows and the outlines. The last folder "Fills" has the layers for the cover, the binder, and the pages respectively, with another layer "All Layers Fill" having all layers merged together.

Anyone can use it to make journal skins, but do not credit me if you are to submit it to Lighthouse.

It's been quite awhile since we worked on our 101 Journal Prompts for Plural Systems book. Last time we did, we were in the 60s on number of prompts, and were working on organizing them into categories.

Today we decided to work on it again only to find, to our IMMENSE frustration, that we can't find the original 60+ prompts file. It may be one of the hundred+ "unnamed document" files we have in our Google Drive (or one of our several Google Drive accounts >.>), or one of the I don't even wanna KNOW how many unnamed documents on our desktop. It's definitely not on our laptop at least, we've kept that pretty clean!

We did find the organized file, with a clear title... but only 12 prompts in it in one category.

So we started again, going category by category this time, and now are up to #50! Halfway done. :)

theres SO many options for how these can be done, it depends on what your system needs! we have a couple categories of journals that we find are popular, but feel free to mix & match or do whatever YOU want!

system bujo

"bujo" is short for bullet journal. here is the original video on bullet journals (youtube link). if youve seen bullet journals before, you probably think of complicated artistic projects in a notebook with space to track some life stuff- the original method is NOTHING like this, and we absolutely recommend checking out the og method.

mood tracking

daily tasks

chores/routines

system diary

this is just a traditional diary. a place to write freely about your day, how youre feeling, etc. we suggest signing off entries! otherwise, theres not a ton to say!

system log

think like simply plural - but in a journal. you can track info about members, just like you would in PK/SP but physically written down.

some ideas on what to track

names, pronouns

preferences (ie likes/dislikes)

connections in the system

headspace maps

I've been trying to get our system to write in a physical journal of sorts again, because I got sick of Notion glitching the hell out, which I've had wonderful inspiration from friends for the creation of it. (Layouts and such, since journalling is hard as hell for us)

I labeled it with a simple piece of paper on the cover, half-hazardly duct taped to it, reading:

"Do You Not Know Who You Are? Do You Need Answers Now? Open This."

It definitely works, since a newer alter did just fine. It sounds like a commercial jdjddhdbdb

Since our old host discovered our system in early 2020, we have tried out a lot of different journaling methods, both digital and physical, and Daylio is the one that we have enjoyed the most! It’s easy to log who is fronting and you can get a lot of interesting stats about your system.

In Daylio, you can create activities, which you can then select from when writing out a journal entries. I use this to log what alters had fronted that day.

I also use it for symptom tracking, where I can turn my symptoms into activities too.

And it makes it easy is visual your symptoms! For example, here are the days in March when we experienced brain fog. (The days with rings are the days we experienced the symptoms.)

Its main original purpose is for mood tracking. You can select your mood whenever you write a journal entry, and the moods can be displayed in charts as well!

I started a journal for us, but I’m not completely sure what we do with it. So far we’re just keeping it like a normal journal
