When he couldn't use his powerful sun magic, they isolated him in a tower (Pearl's tower) in the forest. Lizzie finds him while running from the castle guards, and brings Joel into the real world. When it doesn't, Joel panics. He brings on other people to confirm his suspicions, but they all die or leave before they can report back. It's just Joel and the uncanny husk of his friend on the server until they hit 100 Hours, and Joel is getting more sure that the only way to stop GriEn is to kill him before he kills Joel. Links
