My good friends @cjdufton & @sunsetforgenj are getting a bunch of these swageblocks made up. They are great I had the chance to use one at their place. Super handy tool to have in a shop... If anyone is interested contact Cliff @cjdufton see details below .... π First concept is a 2βx8βx13β block of steel with 12 precisely water jet cut holes-round and square ranging from .75β to 1.5β in .25β increments as well as a range of 4 rectangle holes. It also has a substantial flat area which could be used as a kind of striking anvil surface (priced at $550). Second concept is a slightly larger 2βx9βx13β block with 15 water jet holes-round and square ranging from .75β to 1.75β in .25β increments as well as a range of 4 rectangle holes and a 2.25β square hole, more of a true 21st century swage block (priced at $625). The obvious advantages of these blocks are they are easily repaired if damaged contrary to the nice big old caste blocks. The accurate holes will easily accommodate almost any hardy tool you may have or come across and tooling is easy to make with standard stock sizes. We already have some simple bolster plate add ons to add smaller holes for punching, drifting, etc. Possible the best part is the blocks fit in a flat rate box and can ship within the US for 14$! #blacksmith #swageblock #fabricator #metalsmith #drifter #toolsofthetrade #anvil #forging #metalart #welder #blacksmithing https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo4M2JKj1rW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1bsjf1pmri756
