They really do. I remember the theories (that was lowkey cool) that Rey is the granddaughter of Obi-Wan and Sabe. In old canon, Sabe went to Alderaan after ROTS and she tutored Leia.

milka you should ABSOLUTELY watch a) the mag 7 remake -- if only for goodnight and billy being cigarette-sharing old west old marrieds and vincent d'onofrio's wheezy voice -- AND b) the book of boba. i'm truly loving b right now, they're doing SUCH a good job of making boba likable, letting ming-na be a stone-cold badass, and making so much of the story about indigenous rights with the tuskens. LOVING IT.

WELL i actually checked the imdb rating of the magnificent seven remake and it has 6.9 which, to me, is preeeetty much a sign that it might be great (i even have a whole letterboxd list dedicated to movies rated six point something on imdb bc, as it turns out, most of my favourite movies actually fit into that category soooo i rly like this for me!)
as for boba fett, i was planning on waiting till the entire season had come out to see when/if i would start watching (and i still do want to wait so i can binge it properly!) but i am so happy to hear you are loving it!!
We're only 3 episodes into Boba Fett so it could still go downhill, but so far it's my favorite Star wars installment? Definitely more on par with the Mandalorian than the various movies. (I've seen complaints that it's too slow and not action-y enough, but a. there's been plenty of action so far, and b. I'm enjoying actual character development haha)

my favorite moments in sw fics is when people who work for Darth Vader harm Luke or do something stupid and then a trooper with brain cells says “hey this was against Lord Vader’s orders we’re dead” and then just. Darth spooky Vader™ appears behind them. because he hears everything. nobody knows how. nobody hears him coming. but he’s pissed. and then the troopers die and Vader doesn’t even realise what he’s done because his mind is working miles per hour and it’s all just Luke Luke Luke Luke like a carousel. moral of the story: do not touch Luke Skywalker, and if you did, run
Random re-think about The Rise of Skywalker
I went back to watch the entire series again after seeing and loving the fuck out of TROS. Husband noticed and remarked grouchily that if Rey and Ben could trade life force stuffs to save each other--ignoring the outcome that ultimately had, BenSoloisalivefiteme--then Obi-Wan shoulda been able to save Qui-Gon.
Then he came back in like he’d had a huge epiphany and said that it was a reflection of Rey’s personal duality in the force--not only was she a dyad with Ben, but she herself was a Jedi of Palpatine blood, carrying both light and dark side in her.
So it made complete sense for her to be able to harness something dark side-related--an ability to combat death and mortal injury, something potentially “unnatural” as her grandfather had said--while still being a light side Jedi.
Man, Rey is an epic character.

The instant Rey touches Luke’s (/Anakin’s) lightsaber for the first time is the moment that the Force initiates a bond between her and Ben that transcends time and space, before they’ve even met in person, to keep them linked together.
