If you made a Venn Diagram of their truest beliefs, then I would probably fall somewhere in the middle. Then there are my own interpretations and understandings which expand into territory beyond either one of them. Overall, though, I think I have more in common with my dad because heâs a deep diver within his own religion, and religion and spirituality are topics that interest me. I felt like that for the longest time at the animal shelter. I knew people generally liked and appreciated me, but I wasnât really fitting in. However, I donât feel that way as much now, not with the new batch of workers back in cattery. Iâm still kind of third-wheely (because Iâm shy/socially awkward and also a good deal older than they are), but not to the same drastic extent. I feel much more included, relevant, and free to be my silly and sarcastic self. I had it in my head that the problem might be me (and admittedly, some of it probably was and I do still have some work to do), but now itâs likeâŚoh. I was likeable the whole time?!?!

We have a back deck and a front porch.
what does your closet/wardrobe say about you?
That I spend a lot of time at an animal shelter. Probably half of my shit is animal shelter shit.

Other ways I treat myself include eating fun/favorite foods (so excited for holiday treats!), making time for art, and curling up in bed with my kitties and some YouTube.

Trustworthy Accountability Group (Tag) Study: 80% of People would Avoid Buying Brands Featured Next to Extreme or Dangerous Content
Trustworthy Accountability Group (Tag) recently conducted a study. Results from the study revealed that 80% of people would avoid buying brands featured next to extreme or dangerous content. The study showed that 80% of people in the US reduced or stop buying a product if it was advertised next to extreme or dangerous content online.
About the Trustworthy Accountability Group (Tag) Study
The study was created to highlight what they described as âthe real and measurable risk to a companyâs bottom line from a preventable brand safety crisisâ. Trustworthy Accountability Group (tag) worked with the Brand Safety Institute (BSI) on the study. They surveyed 1017 people and tested how a range of hypothetical situations involving ad misplacement would impact their purchase decisions. On this post, we would discuss some of the results from the study.
Results from Trustworthy Accountability Groupâs Study
73% of people in the study believed that running creative adjacent to hate speech was most damaging for brand reputation.
72% of consumers stated that brands should take steps to prevent themselves from being associated with phonography.
70% of consumers stated that brands should make it a priority to stop their ads from appearing next to violent content.
The overwhelming majority (90%) said was very or somewhat important for brands to ensure their ads werenât placed on websites or apps that hosted dangerous or inappropriate content. Just 2% believed it wasnât the responsibility of advertisers to ensure this didnât occur.
When shown an ad next to a Neo-Nazi propaganda video (which is what household brands were appearing next to during YouTubeâs 2017 brand safety crisis) 87% said they would reduce spending on the product being promoted, while 58% said theyâd stop buying it altogether.
90% said they would reduce spending on brands shown next to terrorist recruitment videos, while 67% said they would boycott it.
93% stated that theyâd limit how much they invested in a brand if it advertised on a site that had infected their computer or mobile device. 73% said theyâd completely cut it from their shopping basket.
When asked who should be responsible for ensuring ads do not run with dangerous, offensive, or inappropriate content, respondents assigned responsibility broadly. 70% said it fell to the advertiser, 68% said the ad agency, 61% the website owner and 46% the technology provider.
Trustworthy Accountability Group (Tag) Speaks on the Study
Mike Zaneis, chief executive of Tag and co-founder of BSI spoke about the study. He stated that it drives home the real and measurable risk to a companyâs bottom line from a preventable brand safety crisis. He explained that even though reputational harm can be hard to measure, consumers said that they plan to vote with their wallets if brands fail to take the necessary steps to protect their supply chain from risks such as hate speeches, malware, and piracy.

Every once in a while, Anthropologie wants me to tell them what I think about stuff. I just have to say that I was never really super interested in clothes until I learned about Anthro. Now, Iâm a fucking addict. I also have very bipolar feelings about that place mostly because everything is SO EXPENSIVE! I love the clothes and vehemently hate the prices. My shopping strategy is to wait until thereâs at least a 40% extra off of already sale items. Most of the time I donât even walk around the store. I head straight on back to the clearance racks. I also try every single item on to make sure it fits properly or if it is something I am actually going to wear. Of course I am an Anthro member which means I get 20% off of a full price item during the month of my birth. It also means I get notified early about sales and sometimes I get an extra something percent off when I do the occasional survey.
In this latest Anthro survey, they wanted to know how I felt about different months of the year. The very first question was: âWhat are the first three words or phrases that come to mind when you think about the month of January?â Then they wanted to know the same thing about February and March. This was the first page of the survey. I sat there, staring at the screen with my head tilted to one side wondering if I should tell the truth or put in sugar coated lies. I told them the truth. I didnât know what else to do, honestly. I couldnât think of one sugar coated lie to fill in those blanks. I did type âbirthdayâ as one of my answers for January which could be taken a number of different ways. Some people love their birthday months. So I thought that was actually something nice to put down for January. Itâs something a stranger can interpret as âjoyfulâ. The rest of it all included words such as âcoldâ and âsadâ and âbittersweetâ. Then I decided that Anthro didnât really want to know how I felt about those months and closed the survey without finishing it.
And this is why I do not try to do sponsored blog entries or develop a brand or make money from this blog.
Iâm a terrible liar but my honesty can be sharp and painful. If I have to choose between my pointy, stabby honesty and faking something, I tend to choose neither. The inside of my brain is a constant swirl of conversations of what I would say if I was bolder, did not care about the impact of my words on others, or had any kind of backbone for standing up for myself. Itâs really hard to have good posture when you have an actual pasta noodle for a spine. I do a lot of core exercises. There was a time when I could always just say what I meant or wanted to say or at least there was a person I could say all of that too, but that time doesnât exist anymore. I have to be on guard about what I say and how I say it and if I say it. It gets pretty exhausting and some times it gets pretty frustrating because I donât think I get the same sort of consideration. At least it doesnât feel like as much thought is going into it as Iâm putting out. Iâm tired of having these conversations in my head. Itâs too much chatter.
I went back to that survey and I finished it. I told the whole truth and nothing but the truth. January makes me feel a little bit happy that Iâm a year older, but cautious because this is when disasters strike. February makes me feel cold and sad. March is only marginally better. Thereâs a turn around in April when I start to feel like skipping and things progressively just get better as the months move forward. We are so close to that turn around month; I can almost taste it. I can definitely smell it. The air no longer smells of cold. It still feels chilly in the mornings, but the air smells greener. I look around me and think I just might actually make it. I also think I can start choosing differently and start having those conversations outside of my brain. Maybe be more mindful in my honesty, but still tell the whole truth.
I meanâŚreally whatâs the worst thing that could happen?
